YESHUA HA MASHIACH Epilogue In the temple area where the trial of Jesus was being conducted by Caiaphas (high priest that year) all seventy-one members of the Sanhedrin (Jewish Supreme Court) along with the elders, the rulers, and teachers of the law, a large crowd of people had gathered. Some of those present had methodically planned this event and had already paid for one of his disciples to betray him. It was truly a "set-up" deal that brought out quite a crowd of people at about daylight that morning. These "high ranking" men were fed up with this notorious trouble-maker who was causing them to lose money by drawing such large crowds of lower-class people away from them and they were all determined to put a stop to him once and for all. A few feet away from where they stood was a room within the temple called the "Holy of Holies" where only the high priest was allowed to enter, once each year, carrying the blood of an animal that had been sacrificed for the sins of the nation. These officials were the highest authorities of their religion yet they could not see that they were going to murder the "Giver of Life." They had no idea that this man was actually the creator of the universe, while the common folks seemed to readily accept it. Why would they bar Jesus from going behind the veil and into the "Holy of Holies"? Certainly they knew more about God than anyone else. And so, they all shouted as one: "CRUCIFY HIM!" YESHUA HA MASHIACH - (Jesus the Messiah) Who is he anyway?

Raised in a traditional Jewish family, international television host Jonathan Bernis was taught from a young age that "Jews don't--and can't!--believe in Jesus." Yet in his study of the Bible, including the Torah, he found overwhelming evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really was the Jewish Messiah. With warmth and transparency, Bernis talks about discovering Jesus in history, too, and how it was that the Jewish Yeshua became the Gentile Jesus. By presenting historic evidence that Jesus is Messiah and refuting common Jewish objections, Bernis gives Christians the knowledge and tools they need to share their Lord with their Jewish friends in a loving, effective way.

Around the world, including Israel, there are a growing number of adherents to Messianic Judaism. Messianic Jews form a religious group that believes Yeshua Hamashiach (the Hebrew name for Jesus the Messiah) is the true Messiah as known in Christianity and the New Testament. In Eternity with Yeshua Hamashiach we learn about the journey to an expanded faith of a dozen real-life Jews who embraced Yeshua, some only in their final days and hours. Already strong in their Jewish faith and practices, the men and women in these stories come to a better understanding of the place of faith in this life and in the hereafter. Some are open about their conjoined faith, while others are secret believers or not yet fully converted. While their stories are different, they have one thing in common: they all have a common heritage. They are Jewish individuals who have placed their faith in the Son of God. The engaging stories in Eternity with Yeshua Hamashiach will help those who want to understand their Jewish friends better and inform Jewish people who are thinking about Yeshua.

"Thus says the LORD, 'I will return to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the LORD of hosts will be called the Holy Mountain.' Zechariah 8:1Our Lord Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, promised before He left earth the first time, from Jerusalem, Israel, that when He returns the second time it also will be to Jerusalem, the city that has His Name written on it.He is not returning to New York City, Moscow, Beijing, London, Paris, nor Chicago. He is returning, as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, to Jerusalem, the Golden City, the Holy City, the City of Truth. The Lion of Judah is coming back, to rule and reign over the nations, setting up His kingdom, made up of Jews and Gentiles that have acknowledged His Kingship and know Him as their Redeemer, the Savior of their soul. The following chapters speak of the life that we can live in the here and now, as we await His return. We are not looking for the "escape out of this hell", raptured away before the Great Tribulation as we have been so badly taught since the late 1890s.Jesus Christ, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, is seated on His heavenly throne, but His soon return will be made known. Now is the time for us to see what He is doing, how He is doing it, and "get on board" as Bob Dylan sang in the 70s.We are working while there is still day, to accomplish His plan and purposes for our life and the nation He has placed us in now.Anticipate, prepare, be about the Father's business, even as Jesus did. That is what we are called to do. And then we will see the Lion of Judah ROAR!

Nothing is more important than what a person believes about Jesus Christ. To understand Christ correctly is to understand the very heart of God, Scripture, and the gospel. To get to the core of this belief, this latest volume in the Foundations of Evangelical Theology series lays out a systematic summary of Christology from philosophical, biblical, and historical perspectives—concluding that Jesus Christ is God the Son incarnate, both fully divine and fully human. Readers will learn to better know, love, trust, and obey Christ—unashamed to proclaim him as the only Lord and Savior. Part of the Foundations of Evangelical Theology series.
