The Word of God says, "God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and Truth" (Jn 4:24). To worship in spirit (or in Spirit) is to worship with your heart or human spirit (or to worship according to the Holy Spirit). This is opposed to worshipping in the flesh and according to the senses, as in the Old Testament. And you have to worship in Truth. To worship in Truth is to worship according to the Word of God. When you live in sin and say that you are praising and worshiping God, you are foolish: God has millions (or billions) of angels who worship and praise Him; and there are millions (or billions) of human beings who worship and praise God. If you live in disobedience to the Word of God that you know, even if you sing songs, and worship five hours everyday, you will still end in Hell Fire, unless you repent of your sin(s). Worship in spirit and Truth!

What does it mean to enter the presence of Jesus? Can people today do this or only biblical characters? In this classic book, Joseph Carroll shows us what it means to truly come into Jesus’ presence. There is so much more to truly worshiping Jesus than church services and personal devotions. True worship requires complete commitment of emotions, intellect, and will—and our reward is great. Carroll directs us into the presence of Christ by drawing on Scripture, especially the book of Revelation, and by giving practical steps of personal worship. The experiences of some of history’s greatest saints also serve as relatable examples of true worship. This deeply practical and personal book will help us know Jesus more intimately on a daily basis. It will help us draw close to Christ, to experience His presence, and to worship Him in ways far better than what most of us imagine to be possible.

Worshiping God in Spirit and Truth is a seven-chapter exposition of what worship means biblically and how those who long to worship God in spirit and truth may do so in a way that is unquestionably right. There have always been-and always will be issues surrounding this topic. The life of Jesus is filled with clashes between himself and the guardians of orthodoxy as to what was acceptable and unacceptable in worship. The author believes that when there is a way that is unquestionably acceptable, that is the path a worshiper should take. Of course, the question then arises as to what is unquestionably correct. Some have concluded from Paul's guidance in Romans 14 that the unquestionably correct approach to eating meat, drinking wine, and observing days is summed up in one word: DON'T! And for that person the dictum is DON'T, because "Whatever does not proceed from faith is sin" (Rom14:23). However, to bind one's personal conclusion about the subject violates the entire context of that chapter: 1) Each should be convinced in his own mind (v.5), 2) Why do you judge your brother (vv.3-4, 10, 13), 3) Let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding (v.19), 4) Accept one another as Christ has accepted you (15:7). This book is sent forth in the prayer that it will promote understanding and bring glory to God.

A profound exploration of how to hold on to hope when our unchanging faith collides with a changing culture, from two respected Christian storytellers and thought leaders. “Offers neither spin control nor image maintenance for the evangelical tribe, but genuine hope.”—Russell Moore, president of ERLC As the pressures of health warnings, economic turmoil, and partisan politics continue to rise, the influence of gospel-focused Christians seems to be waning. In the public square and popular opinion, we are losing our voice right when it’s needed most for Christ’s glory and the common good. But there’s another story unfolding too—if you know where to look. In Gospelbound, Collin Hansen and Sarah Eekhoff Zylstra counter these growing fears with a robust message of resolute hope for anyone hungry for good news. Join them in exploring profound stories of Christians who are quietly changing the world in the name of Jesus—from the wild world of digital media to the stories of ancient saints and unsung contemporary activists on the frontiers of justice and mercy. Discover how, in these dark times, the light of Jesus shines even brighter. You haven’t heard the whole story. And that’s good news.

Nothing is more important than worship. It is the theme of Scripture, the theme of eternity, and the theme of redemptive history— to worship the true and living and glorious God is the purpose of all creation. So why do we treat it as only what is sung or played in church on Sunday morning? Pastor John MacArthur leads you through Scripture texts about true worship. You will learn that worship is any essential expression of service rendered unto God by a soul that loves and extols Him for who He is. Worship is the nonstop role of believers, not merely part of a church service. So get ready to alter your priorities, aiming higher than entertaining worshipers on Sunday mornings. Worship shows that your ultimate priority must always be to worship the true and living God, with a radically different type of living.

The Bible teaches us that we are to be filled with God's Spirit and that God's presence and grace is manifested among his people as they serve, love, and minister to one another. Yet some of the gifts that God offers to his people aren't commonly seen in many churches today. Gifts of prophecy, healing, tongues, and other supernatural gifts of God seem to be absent, and many Christians are unsure how to cultivate an atmosphere where God's Spirit can work while remaining committed to the foundational truth of God's Word. How can Christians pursue and implement the miraculous gifts of the Spirit without falling into fanatical excess and splitting the church in the process? In Practicing the Power, pastor and author Sam Storms offers practical steps to understanding and exercising spiritual gifts in a way that remains grounded in the word and centered in the gospel. With examples drawn from his forty years of ministry as a pastor and teachers, Storms offers a guidebook that can help pastors, elders, and church members understand what changes are needed to see God move in supernatural power and to guard against excess and abuse of the spiritual gifts. If you long to see God's Spirit move in your church and life, and aren't sure why that isn't happening or where to begin, this book is for you.
