If there is any complaint when plants are received, do not return them but give them the best possible treatment you can and write us at once, indicating the adjustment desired. In 1929 we Were not called on to make a single adjustment. This speaks no less plainly than our very many letters from well pleased customers which are hereby gratefully acknowledged. We cannot too strongly recommend July and August planting. It is then that plants are at full size and in the best condition for moving, insuring typical blooms at the earliest possible date. Let us ship during July or August, on the date selected by us, so we can give you the best possible value. Our business depends on your good-will and approval. Experience has shown us that July and August plant ings do the best. Our methods of packing insure the delivery to you of a vigorous plant with unimpaired vitality, ready to start at once into the autumnal growth which fixes the plant in the ground before winter. We will ship on the date you wish or as near as we can in any case but we cannot get in our garden before April lst nor after November 1st. And we cannot ship when in flower; for the tall bearded iris this is about May 15-june 15. In April and May heavy rains often interfere with digging over more or less extended periods.
