The author takes a different look at religion; rather than relying on ancient texts for an understanding of God, she examines Creation itself and, by using reverse engineering, arrives at conclusions about the Creator. Where errors appear to have crept into the creation process these are discussed. Where beneficial features seem to have been omitted, these too are considered.

A series of unfortunate events leave their impression upon the author as he retraces memorable moments at various stages in his youth and early adulthood. An appetite for sex, an insatiable thirst for liquor, and a lackluster relationship with his father lead him to A.A. Vexation returns after ten years sober, and he finds himself in contention, once again, with drink and his Dad which, after a few years, leads him back through the familiar doors. He realizes the importance on finding and depending on faith, but in midstream (9/11/01) that faith is spooked and he plunges into history and lucid insight.

Download Who Is This God Person, Anyway? Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
[ WHAT IF THE GOD YOU BELIEVE IN DOESN'T EXIST? ]What we belive about God is the firm foundation upon which life, the universe, and everything is built. Even if we say there is no God, each of us has something that defines ultimate reality. This foundation, therefore, is the most important piece of our brain or spirit, science or theology, that we could explore. If every single one of us believes in something that defines all reality, even if it is just ourselves, then where did we get these beliefs? How did we come to believe what we believe about the most important question ever asked? Most importantly, what if the God we belive in, doesn't exist? This book begins with a question... THE question. Who Is This God Person, Anyway? The answer may not be 42, but it does give us the answer to life, the universe, and everything. Pastor and author Lee Brown poses this all important question as he invites you into the most life-changing conversation of all. Sprinkled throughout with personal reflection and life stories, as well as a healthy dose of outright nerdery, "Who Is This God Person, Anyway?" is the perfect book for anyone who has questions about God, the universe, and everything, but doesn't want to spend a bunch of time reading theological tomes.

Download Where Is God When It Hurts? Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
Gold Medallion Book Award Winner. Over a million copies sold. An inspirational classic for more than thirty years,?Where Is God When It Hurts??honestly explores pain—from physical wounds to emotional and spiritual pain—and sheds new light on God's presence in our suffering. "How can a loving God allow this to happen? God is either all-loving or all-powerful, but he can't be both." You've heard that question, and perhaps you've even asked it yourself. When a loved one dies, we receive a terminal diagnosis, or natural disasters strike, people often wonder whether God is the?cause?of suffering and why he doesn't immediately take away the pain or fix the situation. As a result, we become angry at the once-beloved God who betrayed us. Bestselling author Philip Yancey uses examples from the Bible and from his own experiences to show us how we can learn to accept—without blame, anger, or fear—what we don't understand. Along the way, he answers questions such as: Why is there such a thing as pain? Is pain a message from God? How should we respond to suffering? How can we learn to cope with pain? Where Is God When It Hurts??speaks to everyone who thinks that suffering doesn't make sense. With compassion and clarity, Yancey brings us one step closer to finding an answer when our pain, or the pain of those we love, is real and we are left wondering,?where is God when it hurts? "One of the most helpful treatments of the problem of evil that I've ever read. If I were looking around for something to give to individuals who are going through travail or difficulty, this is the book I'd recommend." —Dr. Vernon Grounds, former Chancellor of Denver Seminar

Download Hey, God! What Went Wrong and When Are You Going to Fix It? Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
Awarded an American Legion Scholarship I am also an award winning author and have published numerous articles and books. Having attended several colleges and universities eventually earning my Ph. D. in Human Behavior I hold several life credentials in education earned during many years as an educator together with years spent working in the Aerospace Industry and other occupations. But to call Einstein's famous equation E=MC2 incomplete because it does not account for life and death does seem quite extraordinary, yet these remain the two greatest mysteries they have ever been denying us thus far a "theory of everything." The title of this book: "Hey, God! What went wrong and when are You going to fix it?" is a perfectly legitimate question and one that often comes to the minds of most of us. We know something animates life and departs with death, but what this "something" is not all our science has yet discovered, though things like the Large Hadron Collider may provide needed insight, and it has been in the pursuit of knowledge about these two greatest mysteries that has compelled me into so many varied academic studies and careers attempting to make sense of the world and our place in it and how people think and deal with the issues of life and death philosophically, religiously, and politically. The things I have discovered along the way compelled me to much research and speculation about these mysteries and how they impact our lives, to communicate my thoughts about them to others. But there are many things, some of them terribly wrong which we wish God would intervene and set right and question why He does not. Some years ago I removed from the greater part of society to live in semi-seclusion alone with my books and thoughts in a quiet part of the Sequoia National Forest devoting myself to contemplation, speculating about many things and committing my thoughts in writing fulltime. As a writer and author given to much introspection and fascinated by human behavior, nature, and our universe it was important to me to simplify my life as much as possible as anyone given to philosophical speculation about many things must. That much of my writing covers some metaphysical thoughts about God, angels and demons, an afterlife and Biblical stories of origins, of prophecies of the End Times and so much more have been absorbing studies as well and I freely share my thoughts about these in this volume.

Download Lies We Believe About God Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
From the author of the bestselling novel The Shack and the New York Times bestsellers Cross Roads and Eve comes a compelling, conversational exploration of twenty-eight assumptions about God—assumptions that just might be keeping us from experiencing His unconditional, all-encompassing love. In his wildly popular novels, Wm. Paul Young portrayed the Triune God in ways that challenged our thinking—sometimes upending long-held beliefs, but always centered in the eternal, all-encompassing nature of God’s love. Now, in Wm. Paul Young’s first nonfiction book, he invites us to revisit our assumptions about God—this time using the Bible, theological discussion, and personal anecdotes. Paul encourages us to think through beliefs we’ve presumed to be true and consider whether some might actually be false. Expounding on the compassion fans felt from the “Papa” portrayed in The Shack—now a major film starring Sam Worthington and Octavia Spencer—Paul encourages you to think anew about important issues including sin, religion, hell, politics, identity, creation, human rights, and helping us discover God’s deep and abiding love.

Download Where Is God in a Messed-Up World? Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
If God exists, and really is a God of love, then why doesn't he stop the suffering and problems in our world? Roger Carswell is realistic enough to admit that there are things God reveals to us, and things he doesn't reveal. He argues that the starting point is to find out who God is, and figure out if he can be trusted - even if we don't have all the answers. 'God has not only been faithful to me, he has been overwhelmingly kind, incredibly merciful, consistently good and unbelievably patient,' says Roger. The author's own experience of suffering with depression, and other real-life stories that are included, make this a compassionate look at one of the toughest questions about the Christian faith. Moreover, our questioning need not be a barrier to entrusting ourselves to God.

A remarkable memoir of a young love, a devastating loss, and the power of miracles . . . It’s 1989, and Jason and Chery have been dating for almost nine months in Phoenix, Arizona. She’s looking forward to a reunion with some friends from back home in Alaska when Jason’s friend invites them to go three-wheeling. She’s not excited about the idea, but gives in. Then, on the last run of the day, there is a terrible accident. The accident happens forty-five minutes away from the nearest town—and cell phones don’t exist. Help may not get there in time. But help comes in a most miraculous way. One will not make it. The other is put into a coma. There will be an intense and agonizing recovery. The recovery will have to be made in phases decided by the doctors. They have to be sure the information can be handled and accepted without giving up the fight to survive. As time progresses, God always seems to be there. More miraculous events transpire to get the results He’s looking for. The one who survives never understands the events that happened that day—until much later. Looking back, God has a reason for everything. We never fully understand our purpose in life, but sometimes it is made known. This is a true story of how miracles do happen, on a daily basis. You just have to listen to God’s voice to understand. . . .
