Jenny was nearly two years old when David met her, and it was a perfect match between a dog who just wanted out of her prison and a guy looking for someone with whom he could share bad jokes and make listen to his sermons before he delivered them to the church. She could handle some bad humor and some boring sermons if she could just be allowed to love some people and be free. After all, loving people was what she did best. And being free is what everyone wants. Having come from a pretty difficult beginning, Jenny had some issues. She was fearful and aggressive toward other dogs, but even with her issues, she showed an incredible love toward every human she met as well as an unquenchable joy that was always present. Come experience the relationship between a man and his dog, and discover how God is interpreted in the actions of this wonderful and amazing animal by a guy who sees God in every living thing. If you are enduring some difficulty right now, this book may help you out of your pain. You may just discover that what you have really found is a renewed relationship with the King of kings that will give you a new perspective on life and those with whom we share the planet.

Amazing (Furry) Lessons from a Dog’s Life You’ll be enthralled by this story of a man and his lovable Labrador retriever, Hannah, and what their canine friendship can show us about life, grace, and long walks in the park. Hannah was Dave’s best friend. He couldn’t imagine starting a day without her tail wagging an energetic greeting, her body wiggling with sheer gratitude when her food dish was filled, and her unbridled enthusiasm for tennis balls. (How she fit three tennis balls in her mouth at once he’ll never know.) So when Dave first learned of Hannah’s cancer diagnosis, he decided to take whatever time he had left with Hannah to cherish the moments and capture his thoughts in a journal. As he wrote about his canine friend, he soon realized that Hannah was an able (and furry) mentor of faith, grace, kindness, and forgiveness. The lessons were invaluable: from being present to trusting the master. When Hannah lived well past the expected time frame, Dave started to see that the insights he was gaining were more than just journal entries about a family pet. Through Hannah’s antics, God was preparing Dave for life itself. You won’t want to miss this heartwarming tale of a dog who knew how to live . . . and showed her owner how.

Im more convinced than ever that if youre going to write a book it must come from deep inside you. I believe thats so true regarding the writing of any good book, but particularly this volume. While my first published work The Seers House arrived in one single vision at 3 oclock in the morning, my second endeavour Miracle Dog; Miracle God took a lot longer to emerge. For over ten years following my first publication, I was caught up in the mission field in Romania and literally didnt have time to write a follow-up. Indeed, only after Id returned from Romania and been separated from my best friend Snowbell, our Golden Retriever Labrador, did I really begin to accept that another book may be about to be birthed. I couldnt shake off the writing of this book and so eventually I sat down and wrote it. Nevertheless, Miracle Dog; Miracle God hasnt been the easiest manuscript to create for various reasons. Trying to keep to my subject matter what God the Father taught me about Himself through the love of a dog, when there was so much more to tell about our Romanian endeavours, hasnt been straightforward. Writing each chapter as a parable was equally challenging, but in the end I think Ive managed to produce what has been within me since 2008. Finally, the emotion I experienced writing about this remarkable little dog was quite unexpected. On numerous occasions I would have to literally down tools and shed tears, while at other times I laughed out loud and so enjoyed reminiscing about happier moments with Snowbell. My desire is that Miracle Dog; Miracle God will make you laugh and cry, yet also instruct you about the amazing unconditional love of God. After all, thats exactly what happened to me when I was introduced to Snowbell, a beautiful gift from God to my life, if ever there was one.

Download The Dogs of My Life Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
The Dogs of My Life is a collection of stories about just that; the dogs of my life. I grew up with dogs and believe I learned, and am still learning, many lessons from them. Over the years I have thought about these lessons and what they teach me about the Kingdom of God. Isn't it just like God to use the simplest analogies, (parables), to show us the greatest truths? Each day I marvel at the things my dogs do that either teach me or remind me of something God would have me remember or know. As you read these stories, I hope you too will begin to look at your pets in a whole new way. Look at them as teachers. You will be surprised at what you learn.
