In this book, I explain many reasons why we need a ministry or department of peace in every country, as we have a ministry or department of defense. The ministry of peace should handle peace talks, initiate dialogue, truce, and parley. Most peace educators agree that the office should be permanent like all other ministries or departments in the government parastatals. Suppose we have a department or ministries of peace in our respective countries that will help peace talks and dialogue to be more effective. In that case, it should be headed by peace professionals who would help enhance a peaceful transformation rather than appointing inexperienced individuals to represent or initiate peace negotiations only when there`s war. More importantly, war should be the last resort when peace negotiations and dialogues have failed.
