The Ventures are recognized as the most popular and successful instrumental rock and roll band in the world. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008, the 50th anniversary of the band's formation by Don Wilson and Bob Bogle. This book offers my suggestions for what I consider to be an ""essential albums collection"" of The Ventures' music. I limited the listings to albums (LPs, EPs, and CDs) released in the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom that would provide a reasonably complete library of the almost 1,200 different songs recorded by The Ventures during their 55 years of existence to date (1959 to 2014). If you have all of these albums, you'll have virtually the entire recorded and officially-released library of The Ventures' music.
