“Feels like a major collection” – The Washington Post A short fiction collection to stand with Ted Chiang's Exhalation and Kelly Link's Magic for Beginners. The new collection of beautiful, strange and disarming short stories from the award-winning author of The Beauty, Clarke Award nominee The Loosening Skin and The Arrival of Missives, Aliya Whiteley. In 16 stories Whiteley deftly unpeels the strangeness of everyday life through beguiling gardens, rebellious bodies and journeys across familiar worlds, with her trademark wit and compassion. Witness the future of farming in a new Ice Age, or the artist bringing life to glass; the many-eyed monsters we carry and the secret cities inside our bodies; the alien invasion through our language to the Chantress and her twists on the fairy tale. Fascinating and always unexpected, Whiteley is unlike any other writer working today.

Introducing a new western hero in the grand Johnstone tradition: a mining town saloonkeeper who serves up justice like a shot of liquor—150-proof. JOHNSTONE COUNTRY. BOOMTOWN JUSTICE. Rollie Finnegan is a man of few words. As a Pinkerton agent with two decades of experience under his belt, he uses his stony silence to break down suspects and squeeze out confessions. Hence the nickname Stoneface. Over the years, he’s locked up plenty of killers. Now he’s ready to make a killing—for himself . . . There’s gold in the mountains of Idaho Territory. And the town of Boar Gulch is a golden opportunity for a tough guy like Finnegan. But when he arrives, the local saloon owner is gunned down in cold blood—and Finnegan makes a cold calculation of his own. Instead of working in a mine, he’ll buy the saloon. Instead of gold, he’ll mine the miners. And instead of getting dirty, he’ll clean up this grimy little boomtown once and for all—with his own brand of Stoneface justice . . .

Please be sure you have read our introduction at www.TheWholeGuitarNeck.com. We've made our full method introduction available for free there; and it is an integral part of our complete method. Our method is a musically-complete method; and it is not limited to only the diagrams that you may see in the previews. Also: each book is available in right-handed and left-handed formats: be sure to select the correct format. This book covers the Diatonic Scale; and is for 4-String Bass Guitar, and Left-Handed players (picking with the left; and fretting with the right hand). The Whole Guitar Neck is an authentic, and concise, guitar method; based only on musical rudiments, and an easy learning path. Primary components are large books of guitar neck charts; of various scales, in all chords, and all modes. Our method brings you a firm grasp, within any fingering on any diagram; along the whole neck. The book is in two parts; and is available for many scales. For the particular scale, the book includes a collection of dozens of large charts for that scale; and each one is given in all chords, and all modes for that scale. Every book also includes our complete method. Our method then gives you all of the musical components; and it will provide you with robust, and easy orientations. You will be able to confidently grip the neck from any position; and have orientation along any musical line of your own. You will gain the perspective of seeing all of the charts "from the markers-out"; and you will feel oriented at any position. Our musical method is also applied to your own music; in addition to any scales. Getting all the way down to the rudiments in our method, will reveal that the diagrams come second to the music; and, there’s even a lot more than just one anchor in one diagram! They will all "fall away", into your own music. Our easy rudiments-based method is musically sound, and that is what simply leads out to all of these shapes on the whole neck; and, our books have been designed to free up the whole neck. Our method is based only on the music; while still as easy to grasp as a simple looking diagram.
