The unicist approach to diagnostics changed the paradigms of decision making. In the short and long run, the nature of a reality prevails over all Voluntaristic actions. The discovery of the nature of evolution set the bases for a structural change in diagnoses, including business diagnostics. Descriptive, static, causal and conceptual diagnoses define the level of possibilities depending on who is diagnosing. Unicist diagnostics is an approach used to diagnose and to prognose a reality based on the apprehension of its nature. The nature of a given reality defines the trends of that reality. In the short or long run the nature of a reality will prevail over voluntaristic drivers. Voluntaristic drivers can withhold evolution but cannot hinder it. This book is an introduction to the basics for diagnosing complex problems. Simple problems diagnoses do not require the knowledge of their structure to be secure. But complex problems cannot be solved unless their structure is known. Test and error, extreme analytics, empiric approaches and intuition are palliatives for diagnosing without knowing the structure of a fact. When problems are complex, a unicist reflection methodology is necessary to secure knowledge. Rational approaches cannot go beyond the limits of cause-effect relations. The most difficult part of unicist diagnoses is the definition of the context in which the problem is immersed. Diagnoses are secure when their conclusions have been tested. Both non-destructive and destructive tests are necessary to accept the validity of diagnoses. This book is an introduction to the unicist approach to diagnostics. Its application is universal. Its goal is not to provide specific knowledge todiagnose different types of problems, but to give an introduction to the structure of: "the nature of diagnostics."

This book is focused on the R&D of the adaptive systems of businesses in order to develop and design solutions for them. It provides the technology to research and develop solutions for growth, innovation and improvement of business processes. It integrates applied research and architectural design. It starts with a research process where the solutions need to be confirmed and ends with a design process developing the architecture of a business, business process or business unit. The research process is homologous to the clinical trials that are developed in medicine. What needs to be confirmed is the efficacy the solution provides, the security and safety of the process and the side effects the solution produces. The solution needs to be considered as a unified field with the system in order to confirm the validity of the remedy . The first step of an R&D process is being able to apprehend the unified field of a business. After this has been achieved, a diagnosing process can begin. This work shows that the solution has to be designed and built considering its utility, aesthetics and solidity. That is why an extreme design process is used (Unicist XD) that includes several pilot tests to ensure the functionality of the solution.

The unicist approach establishes a new starting point in the business world. This book opens a new dimension to manage the adaptive aspects of businesses. The use of this approach is based on the integration of technical analytical and fundamental knowledge to deal with businesses, to diagnose them, build their strategies and design their functional architecture to produce results. The unicist approach is fully action and results driven. This is a conscious approach that requires having the technical knowledge to manage the operational and systemic aspects and the knowledge of the ontogenetic maps to manage the nature of the complex problems. The process begins with actions and ends with actions. In the real world individuals approach business processes intuitively and, if the goals are achieved and the strategy is fulfilled, they celebrate. If results are not being achieved or a business needs to expand its boundaries then it is necessary to use the unicist approach to diagnose it, build a new strategy and design an architecture to implement it. This book presents a new starting point to manage the business world: a breakthrough that paradoxically proposes a new back to basics.
