Racconto a un alieno è un romanzo di formazione, ambientato su Marte con protagonisti un padre e un figlio. La seconda, periodo in cui il figlio incomincerà a capire gli umani, empatizando con loro e provando il desiderio di volerli aiutare. Infine, nella terza fase il piccolo alieno arriverà a capire che non può nulla per salvare gli umani, poiché solo loro possono salvarsi e in questa maniera si chiude il romanzo, con un appello del piccolo alieno nei confronti delle nuove generazioni umane, esortandoli a essere il cambiamento che gioverà alla Terra. La figura del padre espone le sue lezioni in tutte le loro crudeltà, senza omettere immagini che potrebbero turbare l’animo del figlio. Il padre è dotato di un oggetto magico che gli permette di mostrare scorci di quello che accade sulla Terra e adopera proprio questo strumento per mostrare al figlio gli atti di odio che gli umani compiono. Grazie a questa storia nel corso del libro verranno trattati le varie discriminazioni che gli umani perpetrano e le categorie in cui loro stessi si dividono.

Sulla terra scesero degli alieni, scelsero un uomo, che doveva sostenere delle prove, dovevano accertarsi se nell’animo umano era più forte l’amore, e l’altruismo, oppure l’odio e l’egoismo. Se superava le prove, il popolo terrestre poteva beneficiare della loro tecnologia, che era in grado di allungare la vita, renderli immuni alle malattie, di apprendere le loro tecnologie, insomma i terrestri potevano in breve tempo elevare la loro conoscenza al livello di quella posseduta dagli alieni. Mentre l’uomo sosteneva una delle prove, stava per soccombere, intervenne DIO in persona a salvarlo. Così la terra entro a far parte del “consiglio intergalattico” il quale, come gli aveva suggerito DIO aveva “seminato” la vita nelle galassie, compreso sulla terra. L’umano sostenne, vincendo diverse prove, doveva combattere contro creature aliene, ma in una prova stava per soccombere, Intervenne una figura ancestrale a salvarlo, era DIO che si manifestava agli esseri umani.
