I UFF DA! n Uff da! Summer Solstice in Midnight Sun, we return to the Minnesotan Scandinavian enclave where modern-day life mingles with the old tradition. Taking inspiration from the Tollefson's new hardware store, Mayor Thorvald sets a new city project in the works that can only be described as grandiose. After winning a motor home in a pinochle tournament, the four seniors, known as the Viking Pillagers, take a two-week camp out and discover their male's only vacation isn't exactly what they planned. Their wives at home enjoy the peace and quiet, allowing deserved pampering and indulgences while celebrating the summer solstice. Retired supermodel, Trellis Johansen, finally marries her true love, Anders, in a double-ring ceremony alongside their son and her stepdaughter. A mysterious woman arrives where deep dark secrets emerge concerning her ex-husband and stepchildren. During the Viking Tavling where competitors vie for the crown as King of the Vikings, the Halstrom family cheer and root for the latest addition arriving in the Obstetrics ward. As with the author's other books, with a mastery of description combined with quirky humor and feel-good touch, you will feel as though you are there to enjoy it. There's only catch, you'll be saying "uff da" with each development. Two dozen recipes are included to help you appreciate the cultural cuisine. Karen Ganger lives with her husband near Seattle, Washington where her home is perched on a picturesque cliff next to Puget Sound's insight of Mt. Rainier. Her career path included the medical field, retired casualty claims manager, and archivist. She is an accomplished cook, gardener, traveler, and cancer survivor. As an observer of life, her passion for over a half-century has been to preserve cultural, historical, and traditional ethnic recipes.

These twelve dazzling stories from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie — the Orange Broadband Prize–winning author of Half of a Yellow Sun — are her most intimate works to date. In these stories Adichie turns her penetrating eye to the ties that bind men and women, parents and children, Nigeria and the United States. In “A Private Experience,” a medical student hides from a violent riot with a poor Muslim woman, and the young mother at the centre of “Imitation” finds her comfortable life in Philadelphia threatened when she learns that her husband has moved his mistress into their Lagos home. Searing and profound, suffused with beauty, sorrow and longing, this collection is a resounding confirmation of Adichie’s prodigious literary powers.

This is a dictionary of Cebuano Visayan, the language of the central part of the Philippines and much of Mindanao. Although the explanations are given in English, the aim of this work is not to provide English equivalents but to explain Cebuano forms in terms of themselves. It is meant as a reference work for Cebuano speakers and as a tool for students of the Cebuano language. There is a total of some 25,000 entries and an addenda of 700 forms which were prepared after the dictionary had been composed. This dictionary is the product of eleven years work by more than a hundred persons. The work was edited by John Wolff but the sources are entirely native, and all illustrations are composed by native speakers. To date, this work probably represents the most authoritative dictionary of the Cebuano Visayan language.
