Excerpt from Twenty-Six Sermons of Which Eight Are Republished: Being, Six of Them, Preached Before the University of Cambridge, One, Before the Lord Mayor of London, and One, in Trinity College Chapel Concerning the first sermon in the following publication and which is on Justification by faith it may be proper to mention, that it was in substance preached before the University of Cambridge in that month, in which Mr. March, afterwards Dr. Marsh and Margaret Professor of Divinity and who afterwards became Bishop of Llandaff and then soon after Bishop of Peterborough, first appeared in the University Pulpit, as one of the select Preachers. The author, who heard his discourses, is inclined to think there is between this and them some connexion. Perhaps his Lordship, of whose intention to print there was at the time a rumour, will, if the author's surmise be just, now print. Concerning the second sermon, which is on the Assurance of faith, it may be proper also to mention, that it was in substance preached in Trinity College Chapel, the then Lord Bishop of Bristol being Master.
