But everything changed the day he noticed a flash of light across the sky while working on his grandfather's Indiana farm. Compelled to investigate, Matthew finds a mysterious metallic oval object has landed in the adjacent field. Later that night, Matthew begins to have bizarre dreams within which he encounters a guide named Samuel. Driven to discover his destiny and unlock the secret of The Oval, Matthew is thrust into a quest filled with adventure containing powerful lessons that become more personal and challenging as the path unfolds. The young man embarks on this journey having no idea how important unlocking his true potential is to the future of humankind and what awaits him if he succeeds. Nor does Matthew realize how his progression can only go so far until he must finally face himself and the darkness deeply buried within his soul.

One of the most formidable tasks that an individual faces today is to learn this simple truth: That is, life is a journey of self-realization. "Getting" thoughts create barriers that prohibit understanding. An affected person is unconsciously misled to believe that the only reality that exists is the one experienced by the five senses. As such, spirituality is reduced to a mechanical affair, where the soul is bound and heaven is perceived as being a distant place that is unexperienceable until after death. The message contained in this book illuminates the idea "heaven is a choice, and it can be experienced NOW." To claim this miracle for self, it is necessary to re-work the thoughts in the mind. Those that create what is not wanted must be "let go," and, as a mother bear protects her cub, one must guard the thoughts allowed into the mind. Taking personal responsibility is at the heart of this self-work. This personal revolution is a process. Any courageous enough to claim it can expect to create the following: intimate social relationships, responsive political systems, schools that teach children Who They Are, and loving families.

Most Holocaust scholars and survivors contend that the event was so catastrophic and unprecedented that it defies authentic representation in feature films. Yet it is precisely the extremity of 'the Final Solution' and the issues it raised that have fueled the cinematic imagination since the end of World War II. Recognizing that movies reach a greater audience than eyewitness, historical, or literary accounts, Lawrence Baron argues that they mirror changing public perceptions of the Holocaust over time and place. After tracing the evolution of the most commonly employed genres and themes in earlier Holocaust motion pictures, he focuses on how films from the l990s made the Holocaust relevant for contemporary audiences. While genres like biographical films and love stories about doomed Jewish-Gentile couples remained popular, they now cast Jews or non-Jewish victims like homosexuals in lead roles more often than was the case in the past. Baron attributes the recent proliferation of Holocaust comedies and children's movies to the search for more figurative and age-appropriate genres for conveying the significance of the Holocaust to generations born after it happened. He contends that thematic shifts to stories about neo-Nazis, rescuers, survivors, and their children constitute an expression of the continuing impact the Holocaust exerts on the present. The book concludes with a survey of recent films like Nowhere in Africa and The Pianist.
