Excerpt from E. J. Bowen's Trade List, 1889: Seeds Having completed my stock for the season now opening, I take occa sion to hand to the merchants of the country my annual trade list. Prices herein given will be adhered to as nearly as possible during the season; but, in case of an unavoidable advance in any article, the same will be noted on the bills of parties ordering, and the privilege of declin ing the goods at the advanced rate will be acceded to the purchaser, provided they are returned at once. In case there should be a reduction in any article from prices herein given, my customers will receive the benefit of such reduced price, not withstanding the prices named in this list. Buyers of small amounts of cheap articles, or of quantities of less than a pound of any one kind, must expect to pay a small advance on these prices.
