However, many Bible expositors tell us the passage would be better interpreted, Nimrod was defiant in the face of God. His nefarious reputation was made by convincing mankind to be independent of God. He was not only a hunter of animals but a hunter of men's souls, a cruel oppressor and a tyrant.
