This book, instigated by the unjust sentencing and incarceration of Janez Jansa, president of the by far largest opposition party, the Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS) and former Prime Minister of Slovenia, is a compilation of lives of thirteen political prisoners, Janez Jansa, Aung San Suu Kyi, Benazir Bhutto, Carlos Menem, Benigno Aquino Jr., Mahathma Gandhi, Bertrand Russell, Nelson Mandela, Andrei Sakharov, Antonio Gramsci, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, Martin Luther King Jr. and Iulia Timoshenko. All the text were compiled from open sources, especially Wikipedia. Governments often say they have no political prisoners, only prisoners held under the normal criminal law. This compilation includes cases where the term "political" refers to a "political trial" and "political imprisonment" of persons who are accused and sentenced for crimes in blatantly unfair trials that have no resemblance to what we have come to accept in democratic societies that proclaim the rule of law as one of their greatest values.

This book is a compilation of NATO related speeches, interventions, letters, interviews, articles, and some last-minute thoughts that the author released upon the world from 1991 to 2021. The compilation is far from complete as many speeches resembled each other ad nauseam, some were unfortunately or fortunately lost or misplaced, some deemed inappropriate, while some other pieces are hoping to see the light of the day in the long-planned books Putting Slovenia on the Map and Slovenia's Contribution to the Formulation of EU's Foreign and Security Policy. The main reason for publishing this book is to document a glimpse into the thinking and work of a person who oversaw the whole project of Slovenia’s, his country's, journey from zero status to becoming its representative sitting at one of the top world tables on an equal footing with the rest of the Alliance members. Unfortunately, too often -- if not always -- the winners write history. It is hard to predict who the winners of the quiet but still ongoing battle on how to ensure Slovenia's and Europe’s security will be. This is not just the battle between “peaceniks” and realists at home but also between the promoters of the growing role of the European Union in the defense area and those who believe that only NATO can provide Europe's hard security. Senior Ambassador inkovec, a former California hippie, staunchly belongs in the latter bunch. In foreword, the author attempts to present a realistic view of NATO as it is today, as well as the murky future it seems to be embarking upon. “Time bombs,” “Trojan Horses” and “Dithering Hamlets” were all part of the everyday jargon of the World War II’s ultra-Secretive Political Warfare Executive (PWE). The PWE’s instructors used these terms in the training of the next generation of propagandists and political warriors. The Political Warfare Executive Syllabus reveals for the first time what it took to become a propagandist in what was then the most elite psychological warfare unit in the world. Under the maxim that a good propagandist is trained not born, the lecturers of the PWE Training School at Woburn Abbey and then Brondesbury systematically explored every aspect of how to deliver a lethal dose of propaganda to the enemy and then a purgative and curative dose in the peace that followed. The views of the PWE’s instructors were controversial. This is significant because they would play an important, if hidden, role in how Europe is developing even today. For example, they held a low opinion of the French in general and considered that they had been reduced to the level of “dithering Hamlets” by the German “Trojan Horses” even before the first German tank had crossed the Belgian frontier. On the dark side of PWE operations, they were not above killing the prostitutes whose brothels served the German U-Boot fleet in order to amplify their propaganda message. Perhaps most significant is that they saw Great Britain as European and espoused a Europe that looks very much like the European Union of the early 21st Century. However, there is one important difference. They saw this Greater Europe as accepting the British way of life and being led by Great Britain and not embracing American culture under German leadership. This first volume introduces the reader to the history and theory of political warfare as seen through the eyes of the inheritors of Lord Northcliffe’s Crewe House. Drawing on J. F. C. Fuller and his concept of a war fought in the mind without armies, it establishes the theoretical parameters of political warfare.
