The memoir of one of Pakistan’s most prominent businessmen in exile ‘I reached to see not the beautiful hotel that we had so lovingly built, but a war zone. . . . We found bodies of our dear guests, colleagues, friends: faces I recognized, faces I had worked with and smiled at. The sight that stunned me was the crater—60 feet wide and 20 feet deep. It had been created by over 1000 kg of RDX. The hotel had not been attacked, it had been brutalized. Dead bodies and dismembered limbs, little pools of blood—it was a massacre. I had thought of myself as a hardened man who had seen violence and gristly sights—but what I saw that day left me shaken.’ Truth Always Prevails is the memoir of one of Pakistan’s most prominent businessmen, Sadruddin Hashwani, chairman of the internationally renowned Hashoo Group. From sleeping in the back of trucks in the cold deserts of Balochistan to now owning a brand of luxury hotels as well as numerous other businesses, Sadruddin Hashwani has led a remarkable life. He has struggled against corrupt politicians and uncooperative government officials to build and sustain an extensive business empire. He has faced near-death experiences, most remarkably the 2008 bombing of his own hotel, the Marriott Islamabad, and has overcome seemingly insurmountable odds. Filled with fascinating anecdotes and telling sketches of prominent Pakistani personalities, his is an extraordinary story that will inspire and entertain readers.

In 550 BC, or thereabouts, Buddha stated “I am the sum total of everything I thought”. This was divine wisdom that is inspiration for the book’s title; The Truth is what YOU Believe. Everything you think is based on a process of thought reaching a conclusion that becomes exactly what you are, as you traverse the complexities and opportunities of your life. The Truth of Religion reviews the position of the major Religions and influences they have in societies globally today, and how technological/social giants like Google, Facebook and YouTube threaten the loyalty to religion, and the values that came with those belief systems. The Truth of Sport examines whether money and greed have overtaken human integrity. Does the end justify the means today? The original endeavour of competitive sport started with the purest of ideologies in the Olympics rebirth in Greece in 1896 and is in stark contrast to the drug ridden corrupt fiasco that is prevalent in many professional sports today. Discover what makes top athletes really tick. If there are no rules there is no discernible truth. The section on the Truth of Business looks at how creating credibility in every moment of a company’s existence is the key ingredient to success and importantly how the leader and structure play a part. Commitment to strong ideals is paramount. Weak people tend to accept, and are happy to exist in a world of lies, as it is often easier and cheaper to delude yourself than confront reality head on. How people from all walks of life deal with the adversity of relationship failure and how absolutely critical the truth is, in all your relationships, is uncovered in its barest form in the Truth of Relationships. After the first betrayal, you have nothing. Living a true life means you will always have your integrity, a value beyond compare.

The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. The Age of Enlightenment profoundly enriched religious and philosophical understanding and continues to influence present-day thinking. Works collected here include masterpieces by David Hume, Immanuel Kant, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, as well as religious sermons and moral debates on the issues of the day, such as the slave trade. The Age of Reason saw conflict between Protestantism and Catholicism transformed into one between faith and logic -- a debate that continues in the twenty-first century. ++++ The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. Although their role is often neglected in standard historical narratives of the Reformation, the Ottoman Turks were an important concern of many leading thinkers in early modern Germany, including Martin Luther. In the minds of many, the Turks formed a fearsome, crescent-shaped horizon that threatened to break through and overwhelm. Based on an analysis of more than 300 pamphlets and other publications across all genres and including both popular and scholarly writings, this book is the most extensive treatment in English on views of the Turks and Islam in German-speaking lands during this period. In addition to providing a summary of what was believed about Islam and the Turks in early modern Germany, this book argues that new factors, including increased contact with the Ottomans as well as the specific theological ideas developed during the Protestant Reformation, destabilized traditional paradigms without completely displacing inherited medieval understandings. This book makes important contributions to understanding the role of the Turks in the confessional conflicts of the Reformation and to the broader history of Western views of Islam.
