Dac Olson is CEO and Senior Vice President of factory space ship IPFTA / SBU Jobs. Its mission is exploration for commercial opportunities among the 400-odd worlds currently embraced by the conglomerate Corporation. The Jobs also carries freight, passengers, scientists, life support biologicals and whatever on its three-year transit through the Bubble, an empty void in space that allows for near-relativistic speeds. Until now, extraterrestrial life was usually little more than intelligent lichens with occasional sentient critters about as bright as a hamster. Now the Jobs stumbles upon a gigantic pristine undeniably genuine by gosh alien artifact sitting on its own artificial planet, the first indisputably authentic proof of non-human intelligence. It was here in the Bubble where it shouldnt be, couldnt be. Thats why they call it the Bubble. Dac had to check it out. The situation devolves from the initial euphoria over the find and the possibility of unimaginable riches for all hands, down to the mindless evil of the alien find and Dacs desperate efforts to avoid almost certain and complete destruction of the Jobs. Those well-intentioned efforts backfire at every turn.

Legacy: Phoenix and the Dark Star is a continuation of the story from Legacy: The Mark of Merlin. In Savannah, Georgia, on Halloween night, the benevolent sorceress Ellen Anderson learns from Andie Cornell (a fifteen-year-old medium) that she had drawn the attention of a sinister wizard from New Orleans who practices an elite type of magic-a type of magic that Ellen has never heard of before. As Ellen puts a plan into motion to defend herself, she meets several individuals who will stand with her when she faces the sinister wizard. Among Ellen's new allies is the eighteen-year-old Seminole shaman and vampire hunter Winona (Winnie) Rivers. Winona and her crew (Riley and Brad) had been sent to Savannah, Georgia to capture and execute two vampires. The two vampires don't feed on humans though; however, Winona has never met a vampire that didn't. When Winona's group, Ellen's group and the two vampires come face to face with one another, Ellen demands irrefutable proof that the two vampires are in fact feeding on humans before she will allow Winona's group to execute them. As a compromise, Winona agrees to let Ellen's group cast the 'Memory Talebearer' spell-a spell that transfers memories from an individual to anyone within range of the spell-on the vampires, and so the two vampires were taken to a secluded location in order to do so. Once there, Winona shares her story about how she had become a vampire hunter. About the Author Gerald Pruett was born and raised in St. Louis. Download 'Speak to Me': The Legacy of Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
The endurance of Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon on the Billboard Top 100 Chart is legendary, and its continuing sales and ongoing radio airplay ensure its inclusion on almost every conceivable list of rock's greatest albums. This collection of essays provides indispensable studies of the monumental 1973 album from a variety of musical, cultural, literary and social perspectives. The development and change of the songs is considered closely, from the earliest recordings through to the live, filmed performance at London's Earls Court in 1994. The band became almost synonymous with audio-visual innovations, and the performances of the album at live shows were spectacular moments of mass-culture although Roger Waters himself spoke out against such mass spectacles. The band's stage performances of the album serve to illustrate the multifaceted and complicated relationship between modern culture and technology. The album is therefore placed within the context of developments in late 1960s/early 1970s popular music, with particular focus on the use of a variety of segues between tracks which give the album a multidimensional unity that is lacking in Pink Floyd's later concept albums. Beginning with 'Breathe' and culminating in 'Eclipse', a tonal and motivic coherence unifies the structure of this modern song cycle. The album is also considered in the light of modern day 'tribute' bands, with a discussion of the social groups who have the strongest response to the music being elaborated alongside the status of mediated representations and their relation to the 'real' Pink Floyd.

Download The Chesler Legacy Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
In the vein of Ludlum and Morrell, The Chesler Legacy crackles with international intrigue and vivid characters slung through a violent vortex of high pressure action. The quiet world of academics at the University of Heidelberg, where James Chesler studies for his PhD in philosophy, is shattered when James learns of his father's death in California. Suddenly, two attempts are made on his own life. With his girlfriend, Chantal, desperate to keep her own sordid past from James, they run—wracked with confusion yet intent on discovering who threatens James and why. When CIA station chief Michael Kowalski reads of Charles Chesler's death, he knows the past has risen from the ashes of the botched Operation Sunburst he ran with Chesler years earlier in Argentina. He must find James, protect him, and seize the opportunity to resurrect his own stalled career from its ignominy since that debacle sixteen years earlier. Fear, rage and revenge scorch the pages of The Chesler Legacy from start to finish.
