In a couple of minutes or so the full circle of the morning sun rose above the horizon. A new day had begun. I held up my pipe and pointed it at the morning sun, welcoming it's warmth after a chilly South Dakota night. I prayed. "Thank you, Father Sun," giving thanks to Him for His gift. Then I asked Him if He had a message for me. He said, "I am your Father. I am here to care for you always. I will be with you every day while you fast, and I will provide for you." I was disconnecting from the physical world. The spirit world was taking me in.
