How many Christians come to Christ and never get the foundational teachings of Jesus Christ? Too many! And like the foundations of a house, this should happen right at the beginning of the process. Is it any wonder many struggle to stand when their feet are planted on the spiritual sands of rhetoric and emotion! When businesses and governments find things are becoming too complex, what do they say? Usually, they say they need to get "back to basics." The "basics" are the key principles that sit beneath all human endeavors and they must be solidly grounded or else the business, enterprise, and even governments will struggle and fall apart. You cannot build a house unless there is a solid foundation. Likewise, you cannot build a Christian unless the spiritual foundations are strong. How many Christians suffer? How many fall down or fall away? How many struggle with their faith, especially in the early years when their faith is put to the test? Again...too many! And most of them suffer because their foundations are not strong enough to withstand the storms of life. The Six Foundations This book aims to address this lack. First, it identifies what the Bible defines as the six foundations of Jesus Christ, not what some preachers wrongly state. And second, this book provides insights from the Bible on how to use and build on these foundations. The Lord Jesus said to the Apostles that He would give them the "keys to the kingdom of heaven." These six foundations form the basis of those keys. When these foundations are in place and working effectively, a Christian can withstand any storm or opposition that comes against them. Today as we walk with Jesus Christ we need to "get back to basics." These six foundations are the basic teachings all Christians must learn, understand, and hold fast as they walk in this world.

Every believer needs to establish a sound spiritual FOUNDATION because it sets the groundwork for their entire walk with the LORD. Just as a good foundation is required for a sound building, so a proper spiritual foundation is vital for a victorious Christian life. Those who fail to lay a proper foundation are doomed to spiritual immaturity because they have nothing by which to judge what is right or wrong, scriptural or unscriptural, wise or foolish. Simply put, a healthy biblical understructure eliminates feeble spirituality.Believers who neglect to form a wise foundation can shipwreck their faith altogether, as Paul put it in 1 Timothy 1:19, and find themselves back in the world-in spiritual darkness and separate from God. That's why this book exists. It'll help believers lay a quality understructure so that their faith isn't shipwrecked at some point down the road. The Bible details the six basic doctrines of Christianity in Hebrews 6:1-2 where they are described as "elementary." This means "the initial (starting) point" in the Greek. In other words, these six doctrines come first and are therefore the chief teachings of Christianity. They're "basic" only in the sense that they're foundational and consequently have priority over other doctrines. They are the SIX CHIEF DOCTRINES of Christianity.

The Elementary Doctrines of Christ takes its title directly from Hebrews 6:1-2. These two verses of scripture contain the six tenets of Christianity. The Christian faith couldn't stand without one of them. You could term them the irreducible minimum of the Christian faith. Whoever would like to live a full practicing Christian life would have to accept and do these in his life. The order in which they are given to us in the scriptures is their order of occurence in the life of a Christian. The book is excellent for those who have recently put their faith in Jesus Christ. However, older Christians who have not come across these tenets will be tremendouly blessed by reading and understanding them. Curious inquirers who would like to know what Christians believe would find this book precise and invaluable.

The revelations contained in the Bible serve as a supreme guide by which to measure all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions—and today’s Christians are in steady moral and spiritual decline. A 2010 survey by the Barna Research Group reveals that in American churches, Christians have become less knowledgeable about the Bible, less interested in spiritual disciplines, and more desirous of secular techniques to solve life’s problems, thus blurring the distinction between their conduct and that of nonbelievers. In Seven Pillars of Christianity: An Introduction to the Essential Christian Doctrines, Dr. William Ekane reveals the life-transforming foundations of the Christian faith and issues a clarion call for Christians to return to authentic Christianity. First presenting his compelling case for the scientific reliability and divine origin of the Bible, Dr. Ekane works closely with Scripture as he leads us through everything from the Lord Jesus Christ to trust and faith in the living God to, finally, the five major judgments and Revelation. These practical, strategic insights and essential truths are invaluable to new converts as well as mature believers. The Word of the Holy Spirit offers transformation, illuminating our hearts and minds as we strengthen our spiritual foundation and grow deeper in God.

The author of these sermons has had a feeling for a long time that the great need in our churches in this day is systematic indoctrination. He put his theory into practice last winter in his own church, and these sermons are the result. We were having a great many accessions to our church. In the two years of the church's history we had had something like six hundred accessions to the church, and every month considerable numbers of new members were being added. While many of these came by letter from other churches, many of them were new converts and had had practically no systematic instruction in the fundamental truths of the Christian faith, so we announced a series of sermons on The Fundamental Doctrines of the Christian Faith. There was immediately a large increase in the attendance at the services where these addresses were given, and this increase has kept up until on the last Lord's Day we had much the largest attendance we have ever had, excepting on Easter Sunday. Many have testified to the blessing received from these sermons, and there has been a great demand that the sermons be printed for general circulation. This request has come from ministers of various denominations, Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, and others. It is hoped that this volume will be useful to other pastors in suggesting lines of teaching in their regular pastoral work, and also that it may be used widely by pastors and others for circulation among Christians. We live in a day in which many of our church members are all at sea as to what they believe on the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith. These sermons have already helped many through their delivery. It is hoped they will reach and help far more in the printed form.

Foundational Principles of Christianity is about a return to the Word, which incorporates the basic tenets of the New Testament. In this book, Adalbert Tanyi urges believers to once more examine the depth of their roots in the Word so as to be in conformity with the demands of the Kingdom and to avoid the strange doctrines which are so predominant in the twenty-first century. The principles outlined in this book are each backed by Scripture. Written in simple everyday language and illustrated with day-to-day examples, the book inspires the believer to understand and abide in sound doctrine. It can therefore serve as a handbook and reference during personal or group Bible studies. Aside from it being a teaching aid, the book is also an evangelistic tool, enlightening the unbeliever and guiding him in prayer at the foot of the cross. Rev. Hal Rahman, missionary in Cameroon, Africa. Founder of the Cameroon Bible Training Centres
