Julian Jaynes' 1976 book, The Origins of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind, continues to arouse an unsettling ambivalence. Richard Dawkins called it "either complete rubbish or a work of consummate genius, nothing in between". The present book suggests that the bicameral mind is a phantasm; the dating of the origin of consciousness contradicts archeological and literary evidence; and the theory contributes nothing toward explaining why some physical states are conscious while others are not because the nonconscious bicameral brain is neurophysiologically equivalent to the conscious brain. However, the author pays tribute to Jaynes's work as a work of "consummate genius" because it compels us to re-evaluate the significance of humankind's earliest traditions and texts that might shine light on the "very suspicious totem of evolutionary mythology" that consciousness has evolved continuously and gradually from worms to man. The present book suggests that the evolution of the relationship between consciousnesses, mass, energy, and spacetime radically changed nearly 6,000 years ago during the epigenetic, evolutionary degeneration of a little-known, threadlike structure originating from the center of the central nervous system called Reissner's fiber. The earliest Egyptian, Hebrew, Indian and Chinese traditions, buried beneath the dust of fallen Babel and thousands of years of distortions and disguisings, describe this process during the origin of religion and mystical traditions.

Some times the Shekinah Glory is mentioned in Bible study books, or theological works. It is referred to as the "Glory Cloud" that covered the Ark and the Tabernacle. The reader will be impressed at the last revelation of the Shekinah when he sees how much God the Father loves His children whom He has redeemed through the cross of Christ. The Glory of the Shekinah is seen coming down from heaven to dwell with His children on earth for ever. This manifestation of the Father is a new teaching to many Bible students. He came out of the slums of south Baltimore. He started studying the Bible when he was a teenager and the Bible has been his life's work. He never finished high school and yet went to seminary first, and then attended college. He graduated summa cum laude, and first in the class from Nyack College, to get his Masters degree. He has been a pastor for many years. The Shekinah Glory was his seminary thesis. George Miller dedicates this book to his wife, Edwina, who asked him many times to publish his thesis. This paper was originally presented in a Symposium: "Creative Minds in Dialogue - The Relationship between C. G. Jung and Erich Neumann." Symposium at Pacifica Graduate Institute, Santa Barbara, California, June 24–26, 2016. Erich Neumann (1905-1961) was indisputably one of C. G. Jung’s most brilliant and creative disciples. Publication in 2015 of the correspondence between Neumann and Jung—Analytical Psychology in Exile: The Correspondence of C. G. Jung and Erich Neumann—has opened new perspectives on the work of both men and stimulated a resurgent interest in Erich Neumann. Neumann’s encounter with Jung, begun in 1933 at age twenty-nine, was the transformative event in his life. But to a degree, the influence eventually went both ways; Neumann induced new perceptions in Jung. From the mid-1930s onward, interchanges with Neumann enhanced Jung’s understanding of the mystical depths of Jewish tradition, particularly of Kabbalah and early Hasidism. Neumann undoubtedly played a crucial role in Jung’s astonishing declaration—recorded in 1955, during an eightieth birthday interview—that “the Hasidic Rabbi Baer from Meseritz, whom they called the Great Maggid” was the person who “anticipated my entire psychol-ogy in the eighteenth century.”
