The Romance of Tristan tells one of the most moving and influential love stories of world literature: the doomed, uncontrollable, and enthralling passion of Tristan and Iseut, who fall in love after drinking the love potion meant for Iseut and her husband Mark. The prose version, which concentrates particularly on Tristan's life and character, was one of the most widely acclaimed works in medieval Europe, and for a long time the legend of Tristan was known primarily through it, rather than through the poetic versions. The book had considerable influence on European culture; Malory, for example, based Books VIII to XII of his Morte d'Arthur on it. This is the first translation from the Old French of the whole of this important romance. It emphasizes those parts which link the prose romance with the Tristan legend; the sections not concerned with the traditional story are included in synoptic form. The introduction examines the Prose Tristan in the context of the many other versions of the legend and explanatory notes clarify medieval practice, institutions, names, and places, as well as linguistic ambiguities.

Rare edition with unique illustrations. A tale of chivalry and doomed, transcendent love, The Romance of Tristan and Iseult is one of the most resonant works of Western literature, as well as the basis for our enduring idea of romance. The story of the Cornish knight and the Irish princess who meet by deception, fall in love by magic, and pursue that love in defiance of heavenly and earthly law has inspired artists from Matthew Arnold to Richard Wagner. But nowhere has it been retold with greater eloquence and dignity than in Joseph Bedier's edition, which weaves several medieval sources into a seamless whole, elegantly translated by Hilaire Belloc and Paul Rosenfeld.

Tristan is a chess prodigy who lives with his aunt and looks up to his cousin, Marcus, who has watched out for him over the years. When he and Izzy meet one fateful night, together they tumble into a story as old and unstoppable as love itself. From an exciting new voice in YA, this is a gripping tale of first love.

Tempting Tristan is a stand-alone M/M romance featuring two sexy, hot alphas. One injured war hero, one man who has loved and lost. Each struggling for a future not bound by his painful past. In TEMPTING TRISTAN Fresh off the heels of yet another bad relationship, Tristan Brewer is taking a break from men to try and figure out where he keeps going wrong. He knows his biggest fault--he leads with his heart, not his head--and that's never going to change. But after several introspective weeks, he's beginning to get a handle on things. That is, until badass heartthrob Alex Wells walks into his bar... Alex has spent eight years in the Army, months in a hospital bed, and far too long hiding his sexual identity. He's guilt-ridden, damaged, pissed off, and up for a Silver Star--for the incident that nearly cost him his life, and kept him from his grandmother's funeral. But all he wants to do is forget his stint with the institution that allows but doesn't necessarily accept, and live the life he's always dreamed of. The chemistry between Tristan and Alex ignites from the moment they meet, and the more time they spend together the hotter the flames become. But the closer Tristan gets, the more Alex's walls go up, and when the two walk onto a military base, Tristan finds out Alex's physical scars aren't the ones that run the deepest. HARBORSIDE NIGHTS is a sexy, hot, and evocatively real series of stand-alone romances that follows a group of friends who have known one another for years as "summer" friends, and now come together after college to build their lives. They're tough, edgy, and accepting--most of the time. This series is written in the same loving, raw, and emotional voice readers have come to love by New York Times & USA Today bestselling, award-winning author Melissa Foster with LGBT themes.
