In the past few years, a few articles have been published on the solid-phase synthesis of pyridazine derivatives. These methods apply to intermediates weakly bound to polymers, as a result of which the ester bond is cleaved easily, either during ring closure or right after it. There are few polymer-supported syntheses of heterocycles. This book, Polymers and Pyridazines, discusses a new strategy for polymer-supported synthesis of pyridazine derivatives with much higher reaction rates, applying higher loading and much wider reaction conditions due to the more stable attachment. On the basis of the research conducted, a fundamental break-through was achieved in solid-phase heterocyclic chemistry. The experiments are accompanied by colored drawings and 3D diagrams to help understand the importance of swelling and/or excess concentrations of reagents. Detailed experiments provide complete procedures with infrared difference spectra. The book will be a helpful reference for academy polymer specialists and postgraduate students studying polymer syntheses of general substrates.

The Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds, since its inception, has been recognized as a cornerstone of heterocyclic chemistry. Each volume attempts to discuss all aspects – properties, synthesis, reactions, physiological and industrial significance – of a specific ring system. To keep the series up-to-date, supplementary volumes covering the recent literature on each individual ring system have been published. Many ring systems (such as pyridines and oxazoles) are treated in distinct books, each consisting of separate volumes or parts dealing with different individual topics. With all authors are recognized authorities, the Chemistry of Heterocyclic Chemistry is considered worldwide as the indispensable resource for organic, bioorganic, and medicinal chemists.

This book serves as a supplement to The Pyrazines, Volume 41 of theChemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds series. It covers theliterature published between 1979 and 2000, and–together withVolume 41–provides a complete, up-to-date reference forheterocyclic chemists. It emphasizes practical approaches topyrazine chemistry, offers a full appendix of all simple pyrazinesup to 2000, and features detailed coverage of the following topics: Systematic descriptions of all primary synthetic routes topyrazines Other preparative routes to alkylpyrazines and theirreactions Halogenopyrazines and their synthetic uses Oxypyrazines and trivial names for pharmaceutical oragrochemical pyrazines Thiopyrazines Amino-, nitro-, and other similar pyrazines and theirreactions Pyrazinecarboxylic acids and their derivatives The supplement features extensive cross-references to theoriginal volume and uses chemical nomenclature as per current IUPACrecommendations

Transition Metal-Catalyzed Pyrimidine Synthesis: Transition Metal-Catalyzed Heterocycle Synthesis Series provides an overview of pyrimidine, describing properties of these heterocycle compounds and the traditional synthetic procedures used for them. The book then explores catalyzed procedures for pyrimidine synthesis in greater detail and depth than is currently available in published review articles. This volume is part of the short series authored by Xiao-Feng Wu that summarizes recent achievements on heterocycle synthesis with transition metals as catalysts, with each volume dedicated to one heterocycle compound. Offers a brief, focused review of the active research in pyrimidine synthesis via transition metal catalysis Provides useful coverage of pyrimidine properties and both intermolecular and intramolecular cyclization Volume Three in Elsevier’s short work series, Transition Metal-Catalyzed Heterocycles Synthesis Provides greater detail and depth than is currently available in published review articles
