Excerpt from The Principles of Bankruptcy: Embodying the Bankruptcy Acts, 1883 and 1890, and the Leading Cases Thereon; Part of the Debtors Act, 1869; The Bankruptcy Appeals (County Courts) Act, 1884; The Bankruptcy (Discharge and Closure) Act, 1887; The Preferential Payments in Bankruptcy Acts Tms, the Eighth, Edition contains the Acts, Rules, and other matter which appeared in previous Editions, whilst reference has been made to about ninety new cases Of importance decided since 1898. The portion Of the work dealing with Bills of Sale, which was entirely re-written for the Sixth Edition, has, as well as the rest of the treatise, been further annotated on the present occasion. By the excision Of what has become Obsolete, it has been found possible to include the new decisions without increasing the size of the book by more than about eight pages. My friend Mr. W. Valentine Ball, m.a., Of the north-eastern Circuit, has prepared the Table of Cases, and has revised the Index, the references under each heading of the latter being, as before, in alphabetical order. The reader is requested to note up the cases in the Addenda Which were reported whilst the work was going through the press.
