With the 40 fabulous projects in this eye-opening manual and the revolutionary new forms of transfer paper on the market, such as Lazertran, it’s possible to reproduce any design on a wide variety of surfaces effortlessly. The basic technique couldn’t be easier. Simply photocopy an image onto the paper, soak it for a minute, and the picture slides off as a transparent decal. Adhere it to nonporous surfaces such as metal, plastic, or fabric using the adhesive on the back of the film. Embellish a metal cocktail shaker and matching ice bucket with a retro 50’s design, scatter coffee beans on an espresso cup, or put playful sheep on a child’s pillow. It’s creative fun, and an inspiring start to a great new craft.

Download Image Transfer Through a Scattering Medium Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
The world around us appears as diverse and beautiful as it does owing to the fact that light is scattered. Scattering plays two roles in the intricate process of image formation. First, it is the means by which we perceive an object. An object which does not scatter light cannot be seen. However, scattering also distorts the image observed. Even in relatively pure air, visibility is limited to a range of a few tens of kilometers owing to aerosol and molecular light scattering. It is reduced to tens of meters in conditions of mist or fog. What occurs when we look at an object through a scattering medium? For example, when a point diffuse source is being observed, the radiation undergoes multiple scattering along the path to the photodetector. Therefore, the image produced by a source of this kind (i.e., the irradiance distribution in the image plane) appears as a more or less blurred speck. What we have said so far serves as an introduction to the concept of image transfer theory, or the point spread function ..

Download Ceramic Transfer Printing Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
The ultimate guide to the potential of ceramic transfer printing as a creative medium. This book is ideal for anyone wishing to combine ceramics with print and transfers, a very exciting area which has enormous scope for creativity. Ceramic transfers or decals are one of the prime methods of decorating industrially-made ceramics. They also offer exciting creative potential for studio-based artists or designer-makers. A ceramic transfer is traditionally made by printing ceramic ink onto a special paper and allows pictures, patterns or text to be transferred onto ceramic forms - 2D and 3D. Importantly, print can achieve distinct aesthetic effects on ceramics that are not possible by using other decoration methods such as hand painting. Drawing on over twenty years of experience, Kevin Petrie offers a focused analysis of the potential of ceramic transfer printing as a creative medium. Discover the specific materials and techniques for making versatile screen-printed ceramic transfers - from the 'low tech' to the more sophisticated. In this book, you can also explore other approaches by artist researchers as well as recent developments with digital transfers. A range of case studies shows the potential and diversity of the transfer printing approach in this area, which extends beyond ceramics to include printing on enamel, metal and glass.
