John McKnight, son of John McKnight and Elizabeth Wallace, was born in 1660 in Somerset County, Maryland. He married Jane Alexander, daughter of James Alexander. Jane died in about 1691. He married Jane Wallace, daughter of Matthew Wallace, and they had one known child. He married Martha Dale and they had two children. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Scotland, North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Texas.
