The New York Times bestseller: “A remarkably timely and pulse-quickening tale of deception, divided loyalty, and moral haziness.”—Raleigh News & Observer Harry Pappas, chief of the CIA’s Persia House, receives an encrypted message from a scientist in Tehran. But soon the source of secrets from the Iranian bomb program dries up: the scientist panics; he’s being followed, but he doesn’t know who’s on to him, and neither does Harry. To get his agent out, Harry turns to a secret British spy team known as “The Increment,” whose operatives carry the modern version of the double-O “license to kill.” But the real story is infinitely more complicated than Harry understands, and to get to the bottom of it he must betray his own country.

The Increment System is the world's first "sports psychology system", a system that allows sportspeople to design their perfect mental state and then achieve it through a simple, repeatable process. The system uses a powerful combination of tools and processes drawn from sports psychology, NLP, business project management, and pure common sense. It also includes new sports psychology theory known as "incrementing" which allows you to change your mental state in competition using an easy-to-achieve staged process. The system relies on, teaches and encourages: self-reflection, self-awareness, planning, preparation, experimentation, structured thinking, and the use of positive language and behavioural changes. It was tested and refined using the input of 25 world class athletes and keen amateurs from a wide range of sports. It has received exceptional feedback from people using the system, and has produced clear improvements in their mental performances. "A highly interesting and a refreshing approach to sports psychology", England Mens' Technical Golf Coach "With this system, we could have finished in the top four last season", Head of Sports Science for a Premier League football team "A fascinating and comprehensive book", New Holland Publishers "Impressive ideas and presentation", Hamlyn Books About the Author: Neil Harris is an NLP Sports Practitioner, a professional golfer, and a sports fanatic. He has a special interest in what separates high achievers from those who should achieve more in their chosen sport. He studied Mathematical Sciences at the University of Bath and made a career of understanding and designing effective systems and processes around people, technology and businesses. In recent years his lifelong passion for sports psychology has culminated in the creation of the world's first sports psychology system, a system that allows sportspeople to design their perfect mental state and then achieve it through a simple, repeatable process.

Intended as a comprehensive resource, 'Increments of Neighborhood' is a compendium of recent built work for urban neighbourhoods, encompassing the spectrum of building types financed/built by today's American real estate industry - from single family and townhouses, through 'missing middle' stacked housing, stick-built housing, large multi-family, and high-rise buildings. This publication is the only resource in the marketplace that tabulates market-rate products that fill America's cities, as well as being a comparative resource that shows how these types can be deployed in a way befitting smart-growth using sustainable principles. The only resource of its type, 'Increments of Neighborhood' will demystify the understanding of costs and type, contribute to the public realm for the non-architectural professional, and provide a breadth and range of significant new information for experienced architects who typically specialise in a particular segment of building products such as hospitals or single-family houses, information with which they are frequently unacquainted.

Economist David Merriman of the University of Illinois at Chicago reviews more than 30 individual studies in the most comprehensive assessment of tax increment financing (TIF) with practical recommendations for policy makers and practitioners. The report finds that while TIF has the potential to draw investment into neglected places, it has not accomplished the goal of promoting economic development in most cases. First implemented in the 1950s, TIF funds economic development within a defined district by earmarking increases in future property tax revenues that result from increases in real estate values in the district. The tax revenue can be used for public infrastructure or to compensate private developers for their investments, but TIF is prone to several pitfalls: it often captures some revenues that would have been generated through normal appreciation in property values, it can be exploited by cities to obtain revenues that would otherwise go to overlying government entities such as school districts, and it can make cities' financial decisions less transparent by separating them from the normal budget process. The report recommends several ways that state and local policy makers can reform TIF practices going forward.
