Excerpt from The Confirmation of Executors in Scotland: According to the Practice in the Commissariot of Edinburgh, With Appendices of Acts and Forms In this Edition many portions of the work have been rewritten and re-arranged, a considerable amount of new matter has been introduced, the forms have been revised in accordance with the most recent practice, and there has been added an Appendix of the principal Statutes, sections of Statutes, and Acts of Sederunt referred to in the text. Since the Second Edition of this work was published in 1890, several Statutes have been passed materially affecting the practice in Commissary causes. The Colonial Probates Act, 1892, the Finance Act, 1894 (with its amending Acts), and the Executors (Scotland) Act, 1900, have necessitated extensive alterations and additions in dealing with Inventories of Personal Estate, the transmission of Trust and Executry Funds, Confirmations as executor-nominate, and Colonial Grants as a title to property in this country and vice versa. The whole work has been carefully revised, and a list of Reported Cases cited has been added. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
