Preachers' kids are the worst!' This is an allegation we've heard all our lives. It was usually one of those heathen deacon's children hurling the accusation our way after we'd escaped blame for a problem we'd caused. Like livestock, PKs are branded for life. People know at first glance that we are trouble. Father, Forgive Me: Confessions of a Southern Baptist Preacher's Kid is a humorous, self-deprecating memoir of a preacher's kid (PK) growing up in the South. Do you want to know what really goes on behind the closed doors of a parsonage? Do you ever wonder how preachers nickname their parishioners and talk in secret code about the members of their flocks? Have you ever wondered how preachers' wives help keep the family on an even keel? For all who have ever wanted to be a fly on the wall in a minister's home, this is the book that will expose it all-including what happens when a minister's wife shoots one of her own children!

Confession of Sin is a message of meditation based on the Bible and written by one of the most important Christian writers of all time. A devotional message of faith and hope for you. Charles Haddon (CH) Spurgeon,19 June 1834 - 31 January 1892) was a British Particular Baptist preacher. Spurgeon remains highly influential among Christians of various denominations, among whom he is known as the "Prince of Preachers". He was a strong figure in the Reformed Baptist , defending the Church in agreement with the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith understanding, and opposing the liberal and pragmatic theological tendencies in the Church of his day. It is estimated that in his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people,Spurgeon was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years. He was part of several controversies with the Baptist Union of Great Britain and later had to leave the denomination. In 1867, he started a charity organisation which is now called Spurgeon's and works globally. He also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him posthumously. Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, commentaries, books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime. Spurgeon produced powerful sermons of penetrating thought and precise exposition. His oratory skills held his listeners spellbound in the Metropolitan Tabernacle and many Christians have discovered Spurgeon's messages to be among the best in Christian literature.

Tens of thousands of American adults join the Catholic Church every year. Why? What is it that attracts them to Catholicism? In Confessions of a Mega-Church Pastor, Allen Hunt unveils the treasures of Catholicism that many life-long Catholics are simply unaware of. At the same time he demonstrates the genius of Catholicism and encourages us to move beyond taking our faith for granted. With a personal touch that is profound and disarming, Hunt takes his readers on a journey that is sure to change the way we experience our faith. At a time when so many are disillusioned about where the Catholic Church is and where it is going, Allen Hunt brilliantly reminds us that personal holiness is the key to the bigger future God wants to leads us to both as individuals and together as a Church.

Would it surprise you to learn that ministers are imperfect people? Well, gasp, they are. But, in this perfectly delightful narrative, Bryant captures - with humor and honesty - the nuisances and joys of his 55 years of experience as a Baptist minister living in the deep South. From Navy serviceman to vacuum salesman to radio personality to cancer survivor, Bryant describes how he ultimately finds his way to the pastorate. His sometimes irreverent (but always kind) descriptions of church members and his own foibles make this an entertaining and inspiring read for anyone - believers and non-believers alike. Melinda Ruben, EditorJohn Roberts' insecurity as a child carries over into his adult life as a husband, father, and pastor. This can be seen in some of the decisions John makes along this trip called life. He and Annie fell in love the first time they met and now fifty-eight years later that love has only matured. The times of crisis are made bearable for John because Annie always stood by him.

Mysterious myths still abound on the ridges and in the hollows of the Ozarks Mountains of Missouri. The area was once the setting for The Shepherd of the Hills. "The Old Trail" still exists, the one made by moccasined feet, and "has been there for how long no one knows." When the citizens of tiny Crane hear that dark-haired Oklahoma strangers are moving into their mountains, old timers insist that they are Indians, returning to reclaim what was once theirs, though few have ever seen an Indian. When the strangers start buying milk cows, even before their truck is unloaded, oldsters "Low as how they's redskins from oil rich injun cuntry, come hyar ta buy back thar land." Young mountaineers see their elders as wrong. "They're peaceable, and good traders," they insist. Even though their men are dark, with black hair, and one of them called "Spook." The why of that is unknown. Is he their medicine man? If their wish is to draw attention to him, set him apart, why not a name like Sue, of whom Arkansas neighbor Johnny Cash sings? But when their young enroll in school, and the family joins the Elsie Baptist Church, the natives cast their doubts aside and give the strangers and unqualified Ozarks welcome. Even more so when Spook later proclaims his intent to become a Baptist Minister, and be ordained.
