Where there's heat, there's a smoking-hot firefighter. No man lights Madison Kelly's fire quite like Sean Adams, the firefighter she's been hired to guard during the Boys of Beachville calendar shoot. Though he stars in her hottest, steamiest fantasies, he's the last person she's going to tell. An accident left its mark on her, body and soul. But when she catches Sean looking at her like she's water for a man dying of thirst, she wonders if it's possible he might see the girl beneath the scars. Ever since he pulled Madison from the fire that injured her, Sean's been hot for her. Too bad she clearly has no interest in him-or so he thinks, until he sees a spark in her eyes that says she burns for him as much as he does for her. No more tiptoeing around the matter-a blatant seduction is in order. Soon they're igniting the sheets, but come morning Madison's old fears and insecurities threaten to snuff the flames to ashes. Except Sean's fuse has been lit, and he has no intention of letting her put it out. Ever. Warning: First rule of putting out a fire--take a firm grip on a fireman--er, the hose. Second rule depends on what kind of fire we're talking about.

In the four years between 1881 and 1885, Canada was forged into one nation by the building of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The Last Spike reconstructs the incredible story of how some 2,000 miles of steel crossed the continent in just five years — exactly half the time stipulated in the contract. Pierre Berton recreates the adventures that were part of this vast undertaking: the railway on the brink of bankruptcy, with one hour between it and ruin; the extraordinary land boom of Winnipeg in 1881–1882; and the epic tale of how William Van Horne rushed 3,000 soldiers over a half-finished railway to quell the Riel Rebellion. Dominating the whole saga are the men who made it all possible — a host of astonishing characters: Van Horne, the powerhouse behind the vision of a transcontinental railroad; Rogers, the eccentric surveyor; Onderdonk, the cool New Yorker; Stephen, the most emotional of businessmen; Father Lacombe, the black-robed voyageur; Sam Steele, of the North West Mounted Police; Gabriel Dumont, the Prince of the Prairies; more than 7,000 Chinese workers, toiling and dying in the canyons of the Fraser Valley; and many more — land sharks, construction geniuses, politicians, and entrepreneurs — all of whom played a role in the founding of the new Canada west of Ontario.

Considered an important photographer of his generation, Glen E. Friedman has been a unique documentarian since the age of 12, and soon thereafter his first published photo appeared in SkateBoarder magazine. Over the past 25 years he has photographed some of the most idealistic, interesting and rebellious cultural icons around, documenting the rise of the hard-core punk rock scene in the late 70's/early 80's with such bands as Black Flag, Dead Kennedy's, Minor Threat and even producing the 1st album for Suicidal Tendencies (also from DogTown) and later the rise of rap music in the mid 1980's with groups such as Public Enemy, Run-DMC, and the Beastie Boys. He was one of the first to publicize these groups nationally and many of his photographs are recognized as the subjects' definitive portraits. Glen E. Friedman has compiled images from his 25-year involvement within the rebelious cultures of skateboarding, punk and hip-hop music into two collections, Fuck You Heroes (1994) and Fuck You Too (1996). Selections from these books became the Fuck You All photography exhibit, which has toured internationally since 1997. In 1998 Friedman released The Idealist which showcases his unique perspective and asthetic.
