This paper deals with the salt industry as it exists at the present time in the United States. In different sections of the country the method of treating the salt is radically different from that in other sections; this being due largely to the fact that climatic conditions, purity Of the raw material, water supply and many other factors vary in the different sections. Specific plants which use the different processes will be used as examples to explain the different methods Of treatment.
