Twenty years ago, Patricia Grant was called to the prophetic ministry and instructed by the Lord to become familiar with the lives and functions of the prophets in the Bible. Now after being called once again to teach others about the five people in the Bible who were named for specific missions and trained by the Lord, Grant brings to light the story of Elijah, one of the five, and compares his trials with her own. Grant relies on her personal spiritual experiences to share how, through Gods wisdom, she discovered commonalities with ancient people who also faced hardships on the way to becoming prophets of nations. While highlighting Elijahs challenges and revealing her own struggles throughout childhood and her lifetime, Grant not only demonstrates how faith and Gods love have the power to bring one through darkness and into a healing light, but also provides spiritual guidance for anyone seeking to overcome hardships and accomplish great things for the Lord. The Call: Elijah the Great Prophet shares a true story of Gods love and power as a woman is called to study ancient people and discovers they have more in common than she ever realized.

This book is the first full expository series that I had done, first delivered at a smaller scale to the good people of Bertrams Chapel in 19951996. I am thankful for the call of God on my life to preach His Word. As a pastor, one of my concerns is that people grow closer to God through the study of the Scriptures. I am passionate about preaching and teaching systematically through books of the bible and thereby teaching the whole counsel of God.

Dear readers! This is a very small book. But the content presented in it is about the power possessed in Elijah and his future. For people of all times, Elijah exists still as future itself. For those, before the period of Kings, as a person who could ascend in a whirl wind he was being an incident of the future. This happened in the period of Kings. Before the New Testament, he had eased the path of Lord Christ; he had come forth as a voice which was to guard the country of Israel from destruction and also an incident that would take place in future. This had taken place during the beginning of the New Testament period. Now for us before the Doomsday, he would again arrive along with Enoch to make way for Christ’s second coming. This is what would take place in the future. In the sense, there are the prophecies of future. Before the Doomsday, he would arrive on to the earth and to see that the world wouldn’t destroy, he would divert the hearts of the people towards God. Though he had done this, after his death, the people would again convert into the slaves of the beast which is the supreme form of the Satan and hang on to servitude of the Satan and are becoming responsible for the Doomsday. In this way, Elijah who was naturally a human being, in almost all the periods both in the form of his spirit as well as in his physical form, in the form of the two witnesses, he had performed his deeds in the past, had been performing his deeds in the present and continue to perform so even in the future. To learn about such a great prophet is a great experience in our lives. To keep this experience pleasant and sweet, mellifluous, we must lead a Holy life in God. Otherwise, only ashes would remain and our spiritual life would experience bitter in the burning furnace of the Hades. Whatever is the fact, however one makes one’s own thoughts and perceptions, among the prominent prophets, Elijah is just Elijah! Bestselling Author and Theologian Explores the Life and Ministry of Elijah Known for his in-depth yet accessible teaching, beloved author R. T. Kendall delves into the life of one of the most famous and most relatable persons in the Old Testament: Elijah. Drawn from a popular sermon series Dr. Kendall preached at Westminster Chapel in London, this discussion taken from 1 and 2 Kings traces the prophet's life and ministry from his first appearance and his confrontation with King Ahab until the time he is taken up to heaven. Kendall shows how even this revered prophet--an ordinary man with many imperfections--was used tremendously by God. A great study for both individuals and groups.

Reading about the great characters that of the past has many benefits. We profit by them, learn to bypass their failures, gain courage from their strength in times of crucial stress and strain, and more. For Christians, one of the unmistakably great Old Testament characters is Elijah the Tishbite, of the tribe of Naphtali. He has been written about for centuries by many authors. Ravens fed him, God-given power was his to raise a sorrowing widow’s boy from death, the idolatrous priests of Baal on Mount Carmel heard the impact of his tremendous challenge, and angels became his ministers. He was only a man—but he was a man of God, and that made all the difference. Enjoy this creative biography of one of the Old Testament's most interesting prophets.

The book chronicles the Prophetic ministry of Elijah, the prophet who often called down fire from Heaven. His ministry took place during the time when King Ahab and Jezebel ruled Israel, polluted the land with idolatry and killed the prophets of Baal. Elijah as the Prophet of God declared the judgement of God upon the land by shutting the Heavens through prayer so that there was no rain or dew in the land for three and half years. The Lord used him to confront and destroy the prophets of Baal and to prove Himself the only True God in the land. Elijah's prophetic ministry displayed the power of God to bring judgment upon the land for the wickedness of the people; His ability to sustain and protect His servants who trust in Him. In spite of the displays of the power of God through Elijah which is attributed to His fervent life of prayer, we also see that he displayed his humanity through the time of discouragement through which we saw the grace of God to sustain and refresh His servants in times of weakness and discouragement. At the end of his ministry, he anointed Elisha with the double power of his spirit to continue his prophetic ministry, while he was taken to Heaven by whirlwind.
