Download A Tiny Universe’S Companion Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle
A Tiny Universe's Companion accompanies A Tiny Universe, a textbook on astrology which is based on one version of the Birth-Chart of the Universe known as Thema Mundi. Companion expands on the fi rst book by exploring a number of techniques which were refined by astrologers several centuries ago, but have since lost their significance in modern times. Practices such as the division between day and night which creates the accidental dignity of Planetary Sect, and the forgotten rule of Contention (munakara) which warns of the danger of crossing boundaries, are both reminders of the impact of Sect on the seven original planets. A first century predictive system originating in Persia called Firdaria has been re-introduced in the past few years and is once more gaining in popularity. Firdaria relies heavily on the principles of Sect to direct the individual's lifespan via different planetary periods along with the sequencing of planets according to the Chaldean Order. This method is examined in detail in the final chapters of Companion using modernized interpretations of text from 1st Century astrologer Vettius Valens, and Johannes Schoener from the 16th Century C.E. Planets' rulership over the twelve houses is a cornerstone of traditional astrology's chart interpretation and a ruling planet's condition determines its success or failure in managing the aff airs of its house. Issues such as mediocre quality, troublesome relationships, poor placement, or lack of sight (aversion) suggest stress for the planet and indicate difficult repercussions in the areas of life for which the ruling planet is responsible. Patterns which normally lie unseen or dormant within the chart become animated through rulership, and with the reintroduction of lost models, the chart, and life on Earth once more become reflections of the larger Universe.

Brill’s Companion to Renaissance Astrology brings together a wide array of expertise from around the globe to explain the method and matter of this cultural form, including the Arab and Classical heritage, the medieval tradition, the clash with organized religion, the influence on knowledge and the competition with newly emerging ways of knowing, summarizing the current state of research and suggesting new paths. Contributors include: Giuseppe Bezza, Dieter Blume, Claudia Brosseder, Brendan Dooley, William Eamon, Ornella Faracovi, Hiro Hirai, Wolfgang Hübner, Eileen Reeves, Steven Vanden Broecke, and Graziella Federici Vescovini.

After many years of teaching astrology, first to private pupils and then to classes, it has become increasingly obvious that the student is hampered in his early days by not being able to see examples of work set out and arranged by a working astrologer. It is hoped that this book will help to fill the need especially for those abroad, unable to attend lectures. Other astrologers may not agree with the interpretations as given but even this case, clarification of ideas may result through the presentation of these examples for discussion. Grateful acknowledgment is now made, firstly to those who have so freely given permission for their personal letters and chart-interpretaations to be published; secondly to those who have helped to correct the book; Miss Jacinthe Buddicom, who has acted as checker of signigicators and Mr. J. M. Filbey, who calculated the charts.

The ancient art of astrology continues to fascinate. In this highly illustrated guide, bestselling authors Derek and Julia Parker bring the wisdom of the heavens to every aspect of your life. Using a unique visual style, this comprehensive guide separates "real" astrology from trendy, tabloid-style pieces, and shows how to make the best use of the age-old technique. In addition to practical advice, Astrology also traces the history of the practice, how the art has been employed in both science and religion, and reveals its importance throughout the ages. This informative manual explains how to recognize the key characteristics of all the signs of the Zodiac Astrological tables, details the positions of the planets from 1931 through 2010, showing you how to draw up your own and other people's birth charts to interpret the influence of the planets and moon on your life, character, and relationships. Accessible for complete beginners, while still being informative enough for those with an established interest in the subject, this guide teaches you how to unlock incredible insights into your personality and help unleash your potential.

Somehow, your relationship that started out so wonderfully is having problems. Or perhaps you'd like to anticipate what problems could occur in a potential relationship. More importantly, you need to know how to resolve the problems. Problems of interpersonal relationships are most often caused because everyone has conscious and unconscious needs and behaviors that can conflict with those of another. Recognizing and dealing with them can save relationships. You'll find out how to do this in Bernie Ashman's SignMates. Contrary to what some people think, your astrological sign doesn't "force" you to do anything. It is simply an indicator of what you are. By understanding how the signs relate, you can better understand relationships and how to overcome problems that may arise. In a nutshell, that is what this book will do for you. The book relates potential problems in a relationship between every sign of the zodiac. For example, if you are a Virgo and your partner is a Scorpio, you may play the "Sabotage Game," where you make it difficult for your partner to reach goals because of unresolved anger or jealousy. To deal with this you need to become aware of negative, unproductive comments and support your partner. Two other games and coping strategies are given. Or perhaps you are a Libra and your partner is an Aquarius. You may experience the "Lovers and Strangers Game" where your sense of closeness vacillates between extremes. This is a test to see if you can handle emotional heat. You have to be willing to simply and honestly discuss your feelings. Again, two more games and strategies for dealing with the conflicts that cause them are given. No matter what sign you and your partner are, this book will pinpoint the potential pitfalls and how to deal with them. Also included for each pairing is the good news, a "rainbow" at the end of the difficulties, which indicates how great such a relationship can be. Ideal for both non-astrologers and astrological pros, this book can help save your relationship.
