In this study, we present the final combination of CDF and D0 measurements of cross sections for single-top-quark production in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The data correspond to total integrated luminosities of up to 9.7 fb-1 per experiment. The t-channel cross section is measured to be [sigma]t= 2.25-0.31+0.29 pb. We also present the combinations of the two-dimensional measurements of the s- vs t-channel cross section. In addition, we give the combination of the s+t channel cross section measurement resulting in [sigma]s+t= 3.30-0.40+0.52 pb, without assuming the standard model value for the ratio [sigma]s/[sigma]t. The resulting value of the magnitude of the top-to-bottom quark coupling is.

After the first observation of the inclusive single top-quark production in the s- and t-channels by CDF and D0, both Tevatron collaborations combined their measurements using the distributions of their multivariate discriminants. A Bayesian analysis is used to extract the cross section at a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV from 3.2 fb−1 (CDF) and 2.3 fb−1 (D0) of data, respectively. For a top quark mass of 170 GeV/c2, a cross section of 2.76 + 0.58 - 0.47 pb is extracted while the CKM matrix element.

Measurements are presented of the t-channel single-top-quark production cross section in proton-proton collisions at √s = 8 TeV. The results are based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb−1 recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC. The cross section is measured inclusively, as well as separately for top (t) and antitop $ \left(\overline{\mathrm{t}}\right) $, in final states with a muon or an electron. The measured inclusive t-channel cross section is?t-ch. = 83.6 ± 2.3 (stat.) ± 7.4 (syst.) pb. The single t and $ \overline{\mathrm{t}} $ cross sections are measured to be?t-ch.(t) = 53.8 ± 1.5 (stat.) ± 4.4 (syst.) pb and?$_{t-ch.}$ $ \left(\overline{t}\right) $ = 27.6 ± 1.3 (stat.) ± 3.7 (syst.) pb, respectively. The measured ratio of cross sections is Rt-ch. =?t-ch.(t)/?t-ch. $ \left(\overline{\mathrm{t}}\right) $ = 1.95 ± 0.10 (stat.) ± 0.19 (syst.), in agreement with the standard model prediction. Top quarks are predominantly produced in pairs via the strong interaction in {bar p}p collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV . We present measurements of production cross sections of single top quarks in p{bar p} collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV in a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb−1 collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. We select events with an isolated electron or muon, an imbalance in transverse energy, and two, three, or four jets, with one or two of them containing a bottom hadron.
