The tourism sector is having multiplier effect on the economy and its contribution to the GDP is one of the highest and its ability to generate employment is much more than any other sector. It is the largest single employer and industry in several island nations. The World Travel & Tourism Council calculated that tourism generated at an average annual rate of 7.9% from 2013 to 2023. Water tourism assumes significance in the national economies of several European and Asian countries. There are several water based tourism destinations in the world which are very popular and drawing large number of both domestic and international tourists across the world. In India such as Rivers, Tanks, Lakes and Waterfalls etc., All these water bodies are sources of life for flora and fauna. All the important cities in India have been developed on the banks of the Rivers and Lakes from Ancient times. These water bodies provided irrigation facilities and became great centers of civilizations. Those centers are also popular as pilgrimage canters, since ancient times and are all also emerging as tourism destinations in modern times. Download Perspectives on Work, Home, and Identity From Artisans in Telangana Book in PDF, ePub and Kindle

Providing an ethnographic account of the everyday life of a household of artisans in the Telangana state of southern India, Chandan Bose engages with craft practice beyond the material (in this case, the region's characteristic murals, narrative cloth scrolls, and ritual masks and figurines). In situating the voice of the artisans themselves as the central focus of study, simultaneous and juxtaposing histories of craft practice emerge, through which artisans assemble narratives about work, home, and identity through multiple lenses. These perspectives include: the language artisans use to articulate their experience of materials, materiality, and the physical process of making; the shared and collective memory of practitioners through which they recount the genealogy of the practice; the everyday life of the household and its kinship practices, given the integration of the studio-space and the home-space; the negotiations between practitioners and the nation-state over matters of patronage; and the capacities of artisans to both conform to and affect the practices of the neo-liberal market.

The "Telangana people's struggle," stretching from 1946 to 1951, was the armed rebellion of men as well as women against the oppressive policies of the Nizam of Hyderabad. Hyderabad was India's largest princely state with a population density, estimated above seventeen million. Curiously, almost forty percent of the whole population was then under the control of those landlords who mercilessly established their own feudal estates. The feudal network called for manual labor, including both men and women, in the context of the feudal business.
