"If one suffers, I suffer. If one is chained, I am chained." My faith called me to become a Lance. My compassion drew me into one of the fallen lands. Through my connection with the Chained God, I alone can find and destroy the Horror that stains the land. Death can no longer chain me. But I couldn't have imagined the madness waiting for me in this village. I'm not sure my faith can withstand the secrets I'll uncover. Or that my compassion can survive the violence to come. This Horror may swallow me whole. Death can no longer free me. A creature stalks in the dark. Buildings burn. People die. An altar has been built on the village green.

Melissa kissed my husband on the lips. A strong tinge of jealousy coursed through my blood, but there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. Excerpt: The way my husband was throwing daggers in my direction, I thought for a moment that he was going to go off on me. Finally, his sensibilities returned. "Is this some kind of fucking joke?" He glared at me. Even though I was a guy now and could probably take him on in a fight - although I doubt I'd know what to do - I still shivered at his words. I can't say that I blame him. "Don't worry, big boy..." Melissa purred. "We can explain everything." "I think you need to," he demanded, folding his arms across his chest. I had never seen my husband act so dominant before. "Let me," I said, putting my hand up. "I don't know who the hell you are. I want to hear it from Melissa." I could tell that he was on the verge of rage again.

The Halakhah embodies the complete Jewish Law, and contains commandments and guidelines for day-to-day living. The original commandments given by God to the Jewish people were enhanced by rabbis to offer a detailed framework to guide the lives of all Jews. In this complete, all-encompassing encyclopaedia of the Halakhah, the various laws are classified in such a way that a systematic and coherent structure is obtained. Each entry of the Halakhah is presented in a logical fashion. Where applicable, the original biblical wording is given, extended with literal abstracts from the Torah. Next, problems and questions that may arise from that law are stated and any additional information given. Finally, each entry gives comprehensive explanations and recommendations as to how these laws are to be observed in daily life – where to be and where not to be, what to do and what not to do, what to say and what not to say. The Halakhah, or standard Jewish Law, combines the Mishnah (about 200 CE), the Tosefta (about 300 CE), and the two Talmuds (about 400, 600 CE for the Land of Israel and Babylon, respectively). Volumes I and II contain entries pertaining to the Jewish people in relationship to God. Volume III explains how the Jewish people can restore and maintain their society in accordance with the Torah as it is explained by the rabbis. In Volumes IV and V of this study, we take up the life of the Jewish household in their encounter with God. The Encyclopaedic account therefore moves from regulating relationships between Israel and God to establishing stable and equitable relationships among Israelites and finally to actually living the Halakhah.

Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda made it a priority to revive the young generation of Indians, who were drifting through life without any clear goals, vision or direction. He believed that growth of the newly independent India could only be achieved by a motivated and clear-headed generation of youngsters. In order to inspire the youngsters of India and show them the possibilities of a nobler life, Gurudev delivered a series of fiery 10-minute talks on All India Radio, based on the Bhagavad-gita. He gave this ancient wisdom a contemporary context and presented in a form that was palatable and practical to the modern youngsters. Although delivered in the 1960s, these teachings are as relevant, fresh and inspiring today as they were 40 years ago. 114 SHORT TALKS ON THE BHAGAVAD-GITA

When discussing relationships within the Christian life and in all levels of Christian leadership, one cannot help but focus on two aspects of relationships--the relationship between the believer and the heavenly Father and the relationship between believers and others. In this book, readers will review characteristics that influence the way people live out and react in their Christian lives or ministry. The message focuses on the fact that for Christian life and ministry to be possible and effective, the individual Christian's relationships and his or her walk with the Lord must be a top priority.
