This article presents the current experimental results of searches for Supersymmetry (SUSY) at the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF), using over 110 pb−1 of proton-antiproton collision data with (square root)s = 1800 GeV collected during the period 1992-1995. Since no signal was found, limits on the production of supersymmetric particles are derived. The prospects for supersymmetry searches at Run II of the Tevatron, that began in March 2001, are also discussed here.

We have searched for evidence of supersymmetry with 1 $fb^-1$ with collected with low-$p_T$ dimuon triggers of the Collider Detector on Tevatron Run II, at Fermilab. We looked for trilepton events in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 1.96$ TeV. In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) we expect chargino-neutralino pair production, with subsequent decay into three isolated leptons. We observe one event of three isolated muons, a possible hint of supersymmetry.

This article presents recent results of searches for Supersymmetry using the CDF and the DO detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Described are the Tevatron searches for third generation scalar quarks and for supersymmetric signatures involving photons. All the reported results have been obtained assuming theoretical models in which R-parity is conserved.

This thesis represents one of the most comprehensive and in-depth studies of the use of Lorentz-boosted hadronic final state systems in the search for signals of Supersymmetry conducted to date at the Large Hadron Collider. A thorough assessment is performed of the observables that provide enhanced sensitivity to new physics signals otherwise hidden under an enormous background of top quark pairs produced by Standard Model processes. This is complemented by an ingenious analysis optimization procedure that allowed for extending the reach of this analysis by hundreds of GeV in mass of these hypothetical new particles. Lastly, the combination of both deep, thoughtful physics analysis with the development of high-speed electronics for identifying and selecting these same objects is not only unique, but also revolutionary. The Global Feature Extraction system that the author played a critical role in bringing to fruition represents the first dedicated hardware device for selecting these Lorentz-boosted hadronic systems in real-time using state-of-the-art processing chips and embedded systems.

We review current experimental results of searches for Supersymmetry (SUSY) at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider using the Run I data collected during 1992-1996. New results from the CDF detector in the jets + missing E{sub t} and lepton-photon channels are presented. Recent results from model independent searches at D0 using the SLEUTH algorithm are reviewed. We discuss the prospects for supersymmetry searches at Run II of the Tevatron, scheduled to start in March, 2001.

We summarize results of a search for supersymmetry (SUSY) using a data sample of dileptons in p{anti p} collisions at (square root)s=1.8 TeV. The data represent an integrated luminosity of 107 pb−1 collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) during the 1992-93 and 1994-95 runs. We also briefly provide a prospect of the SUSY search at CDF in the next run of the Tevatron.

This thesis describes searches for new particles predicted by the super symmetry (SUSY) theory, a theory extending beyond the current Standard Model of particle physics, using the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The thesis focuses on searches for stop and sbottom squarks, the SUSY partners of the top and bottom quarks, which are expected to be lighter than the partners of the first and second generation quarks and therefore good candidates for the first evidence of SUSY. It describes novel techniques for estimating and rejecting the Standard-Model backgrounds to searches for these particles. It also includes an independent analysis seeking to constrain the Standard Model ttZ background process, which also represents the first ATLAS search for this rare process at the LHC. The stop squark analysis described, with substantial leading contributions from the author, is the first search for these particles at the LHC to use the jets plus missing transverse energy plus 0-lepton signature and provides the world's best limits on the stop mass for light neutralino LSPs. All in all, the thesis describes three different world-leading analyses in both Standard Model and SUSY physics and therefore represents a major contribution to the field.

We review some of the latest results on Supersymmetry searches at the Fermilab tevatron Collider. The final states for supersymmetric processes are preferably described in terms of the physical signatures produced by the particles involved. Accordingly we look at: missing transverse energy, E{sub T}, related to the presence of neutral and stable supersymmetric particles; jets, from the decay of squarks or gluinos; leptons, coming for instance from gaugino decays; photons, predicted in gauge-mediated models. We discuss here some of the most recent results on SUSY searches performed at the Fermilab Tevatron by the CDF and D0 collaborations. The CDF and D0 detectors[1, 2] collected, during the 1992-96 period (Run I), about 100 pb−1 of p{bar p} collisions. The most relevant up-grades for the current run (Run II, started in March 2001) refer mainly to the tracking and trigger system, with minor improvements to the calorimetry and muon systems.
