Lily Burana had given up on stripping years before she accepted a marriage proposal-but decided to strip her way from Florida to Alaska before settling down. Lily, now a successful journalist, looks back at stripping with a writer's perspective. Her humorous yet hard-edged memoir deftly describes funky clubs and offbeat characters, the exhilaration that overtakes a dancer on stage-and the darker realities that assail her heart when she's out of the spotlight. Strip City is both a hugely entertaining insider's account of a hidden world and a moving voyage of self-discovery. Lily Burana has written for The New York Times Book Review, GQ, New York magazine, The Village Voice, Spin, and Salon. She lives in New York State. This is her rst book.

You've probably heard of college students stripping part-time to cover the cost of their tuition, and for good reason: You can make a ton of money in a short period of time, and you don't need any work experience at all to get the job. The only deterrent really is the social stigma, but if you can get past that, then stripping is a great way to earn a significant income, whether as a part-time side job, or even as your full-time career. Sure, stripping isn't for everyone, but if you're considering it or on the fence about whether or not it might be right for you, then this book is going to give you a lot of valuable insight that will help you make up your mind. And even better, I'm going to explain how to be financially successful as a stripper, and also how to avoid the pitfalls that are so common in this industry. If you're ready to dive into the world of stripping and see what it might have to offer you, then let's get started!

Striptease (& related questions) must be tickling the minds of millions of people in various communities around our world! This phenomenon is quite noticeable by simply seeing how full the parking lots of numerous show clubs often are, in contrast to other struggling business establishments. Timely, enjoyable, well-balanced, and deeply insightful; THE STRIPPING QUESTION explores this increasingly popular dimension of the adult entertainment industry. Any young woman currently working in a place such as a cabaret or strip club, and, any young woman who might consider making money in this way, can benefit immeasurably by purchasing and reading through the valuable information and analysis that fill these pages. It will be helpful for personal discernment and decision-making. Could you or a friend possibly be one of the (fictitiously-named) strippers truly portrayed in this book?!? Former strippers undoubtedly will also want to see what the chapters contain, while reflecting on their experiences. If you are someone who does not fit a description above, you probably know someone who does. The book would make quite an interesting gift! Others from various walks of life and perspectives may also find this to be worthwhile reading. The chapters unfold as follows: 1) Exotic Dance Definitions 2) Striptease History Lesson 3) "What's Happening Sweetheart?" -- The Current Scene 4) Sexual License, Limits, Laws 5) Ching! Ching! -- $trippers' Incomes 6) Practical Advantages 7) Pitfalls 8) Anecdotes of (83!) Real Strippers 9) Spiritual and Moral Considerations 10) Arriving at an Answer

This thesis is concerned with scheduling and three-dimensional packing problems that arise when restricting to nested intervals - either for allocating jobs to time intervals (at machines) or for positioning boxes within a strip. The scheduling problems considered in the first part of this work are motivated by a real-world application in rail car maintenance, and result in a new type of job characteristic introduced into the methodology of scheduling. Being classified as strip packing problems on comparability graphs of an arborescence order, the packing problems of the second part of this thesis are further structurally characterized based on the concept of packing classes. It turns out that using this characterization, these packing problems can equivalently be solved by interval coloring adequate chordal graphs. For several variants of above-mentioned mathematical optimization problems complexity results are derived and approximation, pure heuristical as well as exact solution approaches presented. The performance of the approaches is finally discussed based on computational results.
