Statistics Of Land Grant Colleges And Universities Year Ended June 30 1946 PDF Download

For a number of years previous to the development of war conditions, a preliminary report on land-grant college statistics was issued in time for the fall meeting of the Association of Land-Grant Colleges and Universities. It was impossible to do this for the school year ending in June 1944 since the last report for that year was not received until February 24, 1945. The data are therefore being published in final form in this bulletin and will not be included as a separate section in the "Biennial Survey of Education, 1942-1944." The report for 1943-1944 shows the tremendous effect of the war on the land-grant institutions. Decreased civilian enrollment of men students, increased enrollment of women students, mounting income from all sources except student fees, and increased expenditures for every function are all shown in the summary table. Federal funds increased by 70 percent over 1942-43 due to the Army and Navy programs of training in these institutions. (Contains 15 tables.)
