Their fundamental work had charted the course toward progress. As a result of the foregoing reasons, much of a constructive nature has been accomplished during the last biennium; and even more important, the attitude of the public toward the natural resources of the State is changing materially. There is a growing general impression that all our renewable resources should be so handled as to assure the maximum future returns and that those of exhaustible nature should be utilized to the best possible ad vantage. These gains must be preserved and new objectives sought in making the State a more prosperous and pleasant place in which to live.
