Many books and papers have been written on the mysteries of the Bible. Some of the topics cover Bible history, theology, and trivia under the umbrella of a mystery defined by the writer not by God. Other writings cover the mysteries as stated by the apostles Paul and John, but offer only cursory context and explanation. Few if any provide total scriptural context with background, intended audience, and how the mysteries culminate to finality. Peter warned of looking at prophecy in isolation when he stated in 2 Peter 1:20, "This first knowing, that any prophecy of scripture of its own interpretation is not." This book looks at each mystery as defined by the Holy Spirit as, first, being a mystery. Second, each mystery is examined by looking at the Biblical application and timing from beginning to end as the mystery will be made manifest to more than the believer. Finally, the mysteries are discussed in the logical order of their revelation and brought to a conclusion by the last mystery before the eternal state. The last mystery "The mystery of God should be finished" (Revelation 10:7), brings the wisdom of God into full view for the believer who desires to be a good steward of God's word. KNOWING of nothing that aims to present in one volume, the various mysteries of the New Testament, it has been a happy service to pen these papers, hoping thereby to minister to the profit of some who, while of the household of faith, may have given little or no attention to truths of such vast importance. The teaching set forth is not original with the writer. He is indebted to many, both through oral and written ministry, for most of the instruction he now seeks to impart to others. May it be yours, reader, to test all by the word of the living God, and thus find true profit.

This book brings together the perspectives of apocalypticism and early Jewish mysticism to illuminate aspects of New Testament theology. The first part begins with a consideration of the mystical character of apocalypticism and then uses the Book of Revelation and the development of views about the heavenly mediator figure of Enoch to explore the importance of apocalypticism in the Gospels and Acts, the Pauline Letters and finally the key theological themes in the later books of the New Testament. The second and third parts explore the character of early Jewish mysticism by taking important themes in the early Jewish mystical texts such as the Temple and the Divine Body to demonstrate the relevance of this material to New Testament interpretation.
