Resumen: Este proyecto se realiza como requisito para la obtención de grado de Ingeniero Electrónico en la Universidad Tecnológica De Pereira, y mediante el cual se realiza el desarrollo de un Sistema De Monitoreo Y Control De Variables Remotas A Traves De Internet. En este documento se presentan los conceptos básicos relacionados en el ámbito de los protocolos de comunicaciones aplicativos para el sector hogar y oficina necesarios para el diseño del sistema, en el desarrollo de este proyecto se consideran variables críticas a tener en cuenta para el diseño de circuitos electrónicos y se definen los parámetros necesarios para la selección de un controlador general para el dispositivo. La concepción de la idea surge como un dispositivo que permita a las personas tener acceso remoto a lugares sobre los cuales deseen realizar monitoreo y control de variables de modo tal que la distancia deje de ser una limitante a través de una herramienta de comunicación y acceso a la información por excelencia como el internet. En la última etapa y luego de realizar completamente el proceso de diseño y simulación el proyecto se materializa mediante la fabricación y posterior ensamble de un prototipo que valida el correcto funcionamiento del sistema y su aplicabilidad para la solución que fue pensado.

En esta investigación se propone la aplicación de técnicas de computación estadística y matemática en las redes de comunicaciones como un camino viable, que debe ser explorado si se quieren identificar los ajustes que los canales deben tomar como condición necesaria de desempeño, a fin de optimizarse para una tarea específica de tiempo crítico. Particularmente, las técnicas de reducción de dimensiones combinadas con el poder del entrenamiento de máquinas inteligentes sobre aplicaciones de redes de datos abordados en este libro permiten, de forma simple y con alto nivel de rendimiento, la identificación de las características relevantes del sistema objeto de análisis, con lo que se facilita la posibilidad de establecer las condiciones de operatividad en ambientes de proceso, tan difíciles como son los de tiempo real, sin la necesidad de usar equipos especializados ni procedimientos de alta complejidad operativa y computacional. Se involucran conceptos fundamentales de los sistemas de comunicación en una red Ethernet y del procesamiento de datos logrado mediante análisis multivariado e inteligencia computacional. De este libro pueden tomarse herramientas que aportan al diagnóstico de canales genéricos de comunicación, para determinar su desempeño como soporte a actividades de sistemas de monitoreo y control de nivel industrial en tiempos de respuesta mínimos.

Este presente trabajo se trata del desarrollo de una interfaz de monitoreo y control de la iluminación de una vivienda de forma remota, utilizando una red de sensores inalámbricos de la marca Crossbow llamados Motes MICAz para lograr el control de los focos. Esta interfaz fue creada utilizando el programa LabVIEW versión 8.5, donde se creó un protocolo de comunicación entre este programa y las interfaces Ethernet y Serial de las tarjetas de adquisición de Crossbow. De esta misma forma se logró monitorear las condiciones de iluminación, temperatura, acústica y nivel de batería de los nodos. Las bondades de la herramienta LabVIEW hacen que este proyecto sea más completo y provee los medios para expandir las aplicaciones dentro de la vivienda para crear un entorno domótico real. Este proyecto de tesis esta constituido en dos partes principales, la primera se refiere a la descripción de la vivienda utilizada como el caso de estudio y del protocolo de comunicación entre LabVIEW y los Motes MICAz, la segunda parte se refiere a la implementación de la interfaz en internet, para poder acceder a ésta de manera remota.
