Sifting End-Times Mythologies from Biblical Realities will challenge your way of seeing end-times prophecies like never before. By asking all our prophecy teachers to be more specific, concerning their terminology, the reader will gain a greater understanding of what is to be expected in our near future. This book addresses many of the errors of the past called mythologies. The reader will find more specific and detailed information about biblical words and biblical text than has been presented in the past one hundred years. As this book will ask others to be more specific, it will also be more detailed and specific, concerning the questions it asks of others. In this book, you will discover that you have heard many things that, to be polite, are simply not accurate, and by doing so will greatly increase understanding of GodaEUR(tm)s prophetic word. You will find your eyes being opened about the events as well as their chronological order better than others by helping you, the reader, to sift between what you have heard and what GodaEUR(tm)s word actually says. If anything, this book will challenge the reader to think about what they have been taught in the past.

How much of what we believe is truth and how much of it is myth? No doubt you have heard all your life that we're living in the end times and that Jesus is coming soon. With every passing news event, political happening, and natural disaster, we're told these are the "signs of the times." However, what if the last days aren't exactly what we've been told? In this challenging and thought-provoking book, you will see Bible prophecy in a way you've probably never seen it before. With an emphasis on proper biblical interpretation, audience relevance, and historical context, you will learn that true biblical prophecy is not about the end of the world, but about the end of an age, the Old Covenant age. You will see that Bible prophecy is covenantal in nature, dealing with God's promises to Israel. You don't have to leave the pages of the Bible to see prophecy being fulfilled. This book contrasts the popular view of Dispensationalism, with a more Christ-centered message of hope.

Whether the world ends tomorrow or lasts for centuries, we all exist in a 'climate' of the End of Days. As Thomas Merton wrote, 'We live in an age of two superimposed eschatologies: that of secular anxieties and hopes, and that of revealed fulfillment. Sometimes the first is merely mistaken for the second, sometimes it results from complete denial and despair of the second.' The 'end of time' obviously relates to history, but-just as obviously-it cannot be contained within it. Legends of the End have always been with us; every spiritual tradition that has a story of the beginning of things must also have one of their final end-the end of the earth, of the universe, of time itself. And just as all such myths symbolize invisible realities, so every historical event is precisely an invisible reality made visible and tangible. This book takes a look at eight Legends of the End: Hindu, Buddhist, Zoroastrian, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hopi, and Lakota. When these stories are placed side-by-side, great differences and startling similarities become apparent-similarities both in broad outlines and in minute details. In light of this traditional lore, the author begins and concludes with a penetrating spiritual meditation on the meaning of the End. Without a grasp of this meaning, to date the End is impossible. With such a grasp, even the most accurate dating is irrelevant, for to know the meaning of the End of Days is already to be beyond it. 'Charles Upton is a serious thinker from whom I have learned much. His writing merits close attention.' - Huston Smith, author of The World's Religions, etc.

This book is intended to be a primer, for those who are starting a study of the end times. It will present you with information about some important theological topics from the Bible, which you probably have not heard about previously, or have heard very little about. The topics start with the Rapture of the Church to heaven. This is the resurrection of the dead Christians and the transformation of the living believers. Then the book proceeds to the tribulation, which is a time of intense trouble coming to this earth. There will never be another time on the earth as terrible as this tribulation period ever again. The book continues through to the millennium rule of Christ, and unto the renovation of the old earth. Finally, the reader is introduced to the newly created Heaven and Earth, where no sinners will be allowed. In the New Earth, everyone will live sinless and peaceful lives for all eternity, with God and Christ as king. The chapters proceeds logically, however they can be read in any order, as though they were independent essays. Dr. F. Carl Gilkes was educated and worked as an electronics communications engineer. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from CUNY of New York. After working for approximately fifteen years in the Aircraft Telecommunications and Air Navigation Industry, he changed his focus. He turned his attention to full time studies in Theology. He earned his Doctorate degree, majoring in Theology from MISD of Indiana. Presently he is focusing his attention on evangelism to the non-evangelical, or the traditional religions, such as Anglicans, Roman Catholics, and similar religious groups.

Will Christians vanish in a rapture? Will seven years of apocalyptic terror overtake those left behind? Will one future Mr. Diabolical—the antichrist—rise to control the world? Will he enter a rebuilt Jewish temple, claiming to be God? Will Earth’s nations attack Israel at Armageddon? Best-selling books like Left Behind and popular apocalyptic movies predict such things. Are they correct? No area of Christianity has been subject to more misguided interpretation than end time prophecy. Millions of Christians sense we are nearing Jesus Christ’s return. Yet when it comes to what the majority thinks will happen during Earth’s last days, and what the Bible actually says will occur, the difference is seismic. With clarity and biblical accuracy, End Time Delusions exposes massive errors now flooding through media and in much of today’s sensational prophecy writing. This book closely examines tightly meshed yet speculative theories about the rapture, seven-year tribulation, antichrist, and the modern Jewish state. This book is no novelty. Buttressed with solid teachings from many of Christianity’s most illustrious scholars, it lets the Bible speak for itself about the past, present, and future.

The end-times error that leaves the Bible behind! Author David Currie grew up convinced that one day all true Christians will suddenly be snatched up to heaven. The unfortunate souls left behind by this "rapture" will endure seven horrible years of tribulation, at the end of which Christ will return to earth for a glorious thousand-year reign. Today, millions of Christians accept this end-times theology, assuming - as Currie did -- that the Bible clearly teaches it. Many plan their whole lives around it. But, after studying Scripture for decades, Currie has come to see that if you accept the Bible, you have to reject the rapture. In these remarkable pages - which constitute the world's most careful and thorough scriptural study of the rapture - Currie demonstrates why. He considers all the relevant verses (and there are hundreds!) and examines them in the light of ancient history, the writings of the earliest Christians, and the claims of rapturist theologians. With painstaking thoroughness, he unlocks the meanings of the key biblical prophecies that culminate in Christ's Messianic Kingdom - including those verses in Daniel, Matthew, and Revelation that rapturists turn to most. Marshalling evidence that's as startling as it is compelling, Currie argues that these prophecies of war and tribulation don't point to some still-unrealized apocalyptic future. Rather, most of them were fulfilled long ago: the spiritual, priestly Kingdom prefigured in the Old Testament was inaugurated on Calvary, consummated in 70 A.D. with the destruction of the Temple, and continues to exist today . . . in the Catholic Church! That may surprise you. Yet, shows Currie, it's the only conclusion that fits all the scriptural and historical evidence. Rapture: The End-Times Error That Leaves the Bible Behind makes Scripture, prophecy, and history come alive; and it demonstrates that if you open your Bible, you'll find that God's plan for the future of the world is not filled with darkness and disaster, but with light, mercy, and hope. "We can all learn much from David Currie, not only from what he says, which is wise, but from how he says it, which is Catholic and Christian." From the Foreword by Scott Hahn. Special features: Over 1,300 references to Scripture, the early Church Fathers, authors and events in ancient history, and contemporary rapturist theologians Ten detailed timelines relating biblical prophecy to key historical events The biblical case for the rapture (showing why so many accept it) A survey of the thoughts of the early Church Fathers about the end-times A history of the development of rapturist theories, showing how this heresy has been refuted time and again by the Church A short course in the proper methods of reading Scripture A survey of end-times hypotheses from the first century through 9/11/2001 Nine ground rules you must follow if you are to make sense of biblical prophecy and relate it to salvation history A 10-page annotated bibliography of rapturist sources ancient and new Plus, much more to help you understand and evaluate the claims of rapturists Among the sources cited: Julius Africanus • St. Athanasius • St. Augustine • Pope Benedict XV • Andreas of Cappadocia • St. Clement of Alexandria • G.
