Kids Play Animals are Everywhere: Creative Animal Kingdom Activities is a 6-series project where each is volumized into three books totaling 18 books. Volume 1 covers animal names beginning with A-F, Volume 2 covers G-Q, and Volume 3 covers R-Z. The activities are applicable to SPED students, aftercare classes, camp socials, road trips, and clubs (Boys and Girls, Boys/Girls Scouts, YMCA/YWCA, 4-H Clubs, PTA groups, pet shows). Parents will find that children with an interest in the arts and/or digital art can benefit greatly from the books especially if they are animal lovers. One of the ideas for the book grew from Loren's love for animals of the wild, especially in Africa, and Dr. D.'s love for educating and inspiring youths to attain bigger and greater things in their present lives that they can take with them into the future as adults. Both of us were initiated into the animal kingdom world back in Jamaica when our fathers took us to the circus to see lions, elephants, and other animals at Race Course back in the 1960s. Who knew that some 60 years later we would be collaborating on a book about animals? In addition, Dr. D., being aware of the increase and critical impact computers and digital life have on the school system during the pandemic, she wanted to create another outlet for the kids to engage in both analog and digital work outside of their school environment. Be forewarned that most images portrayed in this book are child-like and not professionally appealing. Think of the NBC logo of a peacock that is basically an artistic rendition of a real peacock and bears little resemblance to a real peacock/peafowl. As in the Impressionist art form, alluding to an image does not define the present element under consideration. It requires an open mind to accept this branch of sometimes abstract art. In other words, this is a STEAM project with an emphasis on the Arts.
