Who was Jesus? A fanatical pretender to the throne? The son of God sent to reconcile men's sins? Or, the leader of a failed revolution, executed in shame? Perhaps all things at once. This epic novel weaves multiple plots, subplots, and complex themes personalizing ALL the historic figures crisscrossing Jesus' life. Herod the Great, who wanted to be the Messiah. Antipas, manipulated by the Sandherin and Herodias. Zechariah's scheme to create a Jewish Empire with John and Jesus at its epicenter. One incredible drama after another unfolds in this giant exploration of previously unthinkable adventures of Jesus. Never have the roles of mother, uncle, aunt, and grandparents been so dramatically demonstrated against a background of voracious politics and religion. These intense and original scenes luminously reveal every thought and word that Jesus spoke in a fresh interpretation, rendered courageously and superbly. This novel is a vast, world-class achievement that delves into forbidden territory without shame or timidity. I cannot think of another writer who has the depth, insight, and spiritual intellect that Walter Schenck has. Simply, he is the best.

"The author interposes a broad mix of history, fiction and the supernatural to create a portrait of epic proportions. ... Schenck offers regular contrasts between the decadence of Rome and the morality of those under its yoke, and the savior is portrayed as a guiding light in an otherwise murderous, untrustworthy time ... the story is noteworthy for its breadth of context. ... An ambitious novel."

I have long loved the symphonic overtures of a brush against canvas. Th e whimsical strokes, the powerful rushes, the soft, immaculate renderings all attract me to a plain of gratitude and memories and wishful fantasies. To confess, I also wrote this collection of essays as an exercise in intellectual enrichment concerning one of my favorite subjects: great artists. I have traveled throughout the world and visited some of the most fabulous museums imaginable so I may gleam a small portion of the lives of the artists whom I selected for this brief book. I selected two great pictures for each artists: ie The Straw Hat for Rubens; Fishing Boat on the Beach for Van Gogh; Symphony in White #3 for Whistler; Tobit and Anna for Rembrandt, etc. With each artist I delved into their lives with a specific and original interpretation of why they drew as they did. I also present a brief analysis of the paintings. It would take a reader a lot of research to accumulate what I present in so brief a space. This childrens book may serve to delight the young reader to learn more of the lives of the artists who had gained fame. The etchings are replicated so the child may draw within and yes, even outside the lines to experience the wonder of reds and greens and blues on an imaginary canvas.

When a woman from Samaria comes to draw water at Jacobs well, Jesus, known prophetically as Shiloh, Prince of Peace, offers her an incredible giftliving water. All she has to do is ask, which, by the way, still applies today. Jesus explains that everyone who drinks from His well, even those of questionable character like her, will never be thirsty again, and the water will become a spring welling up to eternal life (NIV). In Shilohs Well you can read all about an overflowing, abundant life that is available to all those who drink of this miraculous living water. My prayer is that these pages will proclaim a clear, unequivocal message of eternal hope and spiritual truth pointing to the God who has sustained and blessed me my entire life. May Shilohs Well make you smile, touch your heart, lead you humbly to the feet of Christ, enlighten your spiritual understanding, and challenge your commitment to Christian service!
