How Do You Define Sensuality? As women, we are socialized and disciplined to dim our sensual selves for reasons from safety to parental and societal expectations and everything in between. As we are opening our eyes and hearts to the beauty and freedom of our sacred sensuality, we are sharing it with our sisters and daughters so we can bring true balance back to ourselves and our world. Within the stories that the women in this book share are themes of reclamation and surrender to sensuality, femininity, and passion that is within us all. As you read each one, you might see a reflection of yourself, your story and your desires come to life. Allow yourself to explore the soulfulness of your sensuality through the words of these strong, vulnerable, and connected women. With each story, poem, and declaration, allow yourself to steep in the power, truth, and similarities that could be you. Where can you expand your comfort zone in your sacred self and sensuality? How can you own your magical feminine and shine from your sensual soul? Carrie Myers is passionate about women healing from all the "shoulds" and expectations that are layered upon us throughout our lives. Recognizing that our world is extremely out of balance when it comes to the masculine and feminine energies and demands, Carrie invites women to delve into the longings and truth within themselves. No longer are we adhering to the patriarchal rules; instead, we are stepping into our birthright and power, our divine feminine, as the wise, wild and intuition-filled sensual beings we are born to be. Witnessing women excavate their light and share their shine with others is inspiring, powerful, and soul filling! 'So, grab a journal and your favorite pen and take notes to forge your journey into your most potent and passionate sensual self. I look forward to hearing your story as you discover your sensual light within.' - Carrie Myers carriemyersauthor.com soulshineunbound.com yourselfprogram.com Contributors to Sensual Soul Shine: Carrie Myers Annette Vaucanson Kelly Katie May Elizabeth Nguyen Heather Robbins Katie Weiper Kim Lange (Huynh) Laurie Riedman Nicola Humber Patricia Alessandra Levy Siobhan Gannon Original cover art: Kelsey Wyatt

Reimagines black and brown sensuality to develop new modes of knowledge production In Sensual Excess, Amber Jamilla Musser imagines epistemologies of sensuality that emerge from fleshiness. To do so, she works against the framing of black and brown bodies as sexualized, objectified, and abject, and offers multiple ways of thinking with and through sensation and aesthetics. Each chapter draws our attention to particular aspects of pornotropic capture that black and brown bodies must always negotiate. Though these technologies differ according to the nature of their encounters with white supremacy, together they add to our understanding of the ways that structures of domination produce violence and work to contain bodies and pleasures within certain legible parameters. To do so, Sensual Excess analyzes moments of brown jouissance that exceed these constraints. These ruptures illuminate multiple epistemologies of selfhood and sensuality that offer frameworks for minoritarian knowledge production which is designed to enable one to sit with uncertainty. Through examinations of installations and performances like Judy Chicago's The Dinner Party, Kara Walker's A Subtlety, Patty Chang's In Love and Nao Bustamante's Neapolitan, Musser unpacks the relationships between racialized sexuality and consumption to interrogate foundational concepts in psychoanalytic theory, critical race studies, feminism, and queer theory. In so doing, Sensual Excess offers a project of knowledge production focused not on mastery, but on sensing and imagining otherwise, whatever and wherever that might be.

'Joking is teaching, so take care to listen - Don't look at just the joke's form of expression. To jesters every serious thing's hilarious, While to the wise hilarious jokes are serious' Rumi is the greatest mystic poet to have written in Persian, and the Masnavi is his masterpiece. Divided into six books and consisting of some 26,000 verses, the poem was designed to convey a message of divine love and unity to the disciples of Rumi's Sufi order, known today as the Whirling Dervishes. Like the earlier books, Book Four interweaves amusing stories with homilies to instruct pupils in understanding of God's meaning. It has a special focus on the mystical knowledge of the spiritual guide, elaborated through stories such as Solomon's freeiration to the Queen of Sheba, and animal fables. This is the first ever verse translation of Book Four of the Masnavi. It follows the original by presenting Rumi's most mature mystical teachings in simple and attractive rhyming couplets.
