This publication provides population and dwelling counts established by the 2001 Census of Canada. The levels of geography covered are Canada, provinces and territories, and other geographic areas including census subdivisions (municipalities), census metropolitan areas and census agglomerations. For selected geographies, the tables provide percentage change in the population counts between 1996 and 2001. Data are also provided for land area and population density. Geographic boundaries are those in effect on January 1, 2001.
