A search for the Standard Model Higgs boson is performed in 4.0 fb-1 of p$ar{p}$ collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV, collected with the DØ detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. The final state considered is a pair of b-jets with large missing transverse energy and one hadronic tau decay as expected from the reaction p$ar{p}$ → WH → ? v b$ar{b}$. Boosted decision trees are used to discriminate the signal from the background. Good agreement is observed between data and expected backgrounds. For a Higgs boson mass of 115 GeV, a limit is set at 95% C.L. on the cross-section times branching fraction of (p$ar{p}$→ (Z/W)H)×(H → b$ar{b}$) which is 14 times larger than the Standard Model value.

We present a search for the Standard Model Higgs boson decaying into a pair of photons produced in p$p\bar{p}$ collisions with a center of mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The results are based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 10 fb-1 collected by the CDF II detector. Higgs boson candidate events are identified by reconstructing two photons in either the central or plug regions of the detector. The acceptance for identifying photons is significantly increased by using a new algorithm designed to reconstruct photons in the central region that have converted to an electron-positron pair. In addition, a new neural network discriminant is employed to improve the identification of non-converting central photons. No evidence for the Higgs boson is observed in the data, and we set an upper limit on the cross section for Higgs boson production multiplied by the H 2![gamma][gamma] branching ratio. For a Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV/c 2, we obtain an observed (expected) limit of 12.2 (10.8) times the Standard Model prediction at the 95% credibility level.

We report on a search for the standard model Higgs boson decaying into pairs of? leptons in p{bar p} collisions produced by the Tevatron at √s = 1.96 TeV. The analyzed data sample was recorded by the CDFII detector and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 6.0 fb−1. The search is performed in the final state with one? decaying leptonically and the second one identified through its semi-hadronic decay. Since no significant excess is observed, a 95% credibility level upper limit on the production cross section times branching ratio to the?? final state is set for hypothetical Higgs boson masses between 100 and 150 GeV/c2. For a Higgs boson of 120 GeV/c2 the observed (expected) limit is 14.6 (15.3) the predicted value.

A search is performed for the standard model Higgs boson in 5.2 fb−1 of p{bar p} collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV, collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The final state considered is a pair of b jets and large missing transverse energy, as expected from p{bar p} → ZH → [nu]{bar [nu]}b{bar b} production. The search is also sensitive to the WH → l{nu}b{bar b} channel when the charged lepton is not identified. For a Higgs boson mass of 115 GeV, a limit is set at the 95% C.L. on the cross section multiplied by branching fraction for (p{bar p} → (Z/W)H) x (H → b{bar b}) that is a factor of 3.7 larger than the standard model value, consistent with the factor of 4.6 expected.

This dissertation presents a search for the 125 GeV Standard Model Higgs boson in the opposite-sign dimuon decay channel. The search is performed in 35.92 fb-1 of proton-proton collision data taken at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. Results are found by combining several topological categories. The resulting 95% confidence level upper limit on [sigma]/[sigma] subcript [SM H→ [mu]+[mu]-] is 2.41 × SM expected and 2.79 × SM observed.

A search for the standard model Higgs boson is performed in 5.2 fb-1 of p$ar{p}$ collisions at p √s = 1.96 TeV, collected with the DØ detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. The final state considered is a pair of b jets with large missing transverse energy, as expected from p$ar{p}$→ ZH → v$ar{v}$b$ar{b}$ production. The search is also sensitive to the WH → lvb$ar{b}$ channel, where the charged lepton is not identified. Boosted decision trees are used to discriminate signal from background. Good agreement is observed between data and expected backgrounds, and, for a Higgs-boson mass of 115 GeV, a limit is set at 95% C.L. on the cross section multiplied by branching fraction of (p$ar{p}$ → (Z/W)H) × (H → b$ar{b}$) that is a factor 4.57 expected and 3.73 observed larger than the value expected from the standard model.

In this study, a search is reported for Higgs boson decay to ?+?- using data with an integrated luminosity of 24.8 fb-1 collected with the ATLAS detector in pp collisions at √s = 7 and 8 TeV at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The observed dimuon invariant mass distribution is consistent with the Standard Model background-only hypothesis in the 120–150 GeV search range. For a Higgs boson with a mass of 125.5 GeV, the observed (expected) upper limit at the 95% confidence level is 7.0 (7.2) times the Standard Model expectation. This corresponds to an upper limit on the branching ratio BR(H→?+?-) of 1.5×10-3.
