Schuyler County Marriage Records PDF Download

This volume contains marriage and death notices abstracted from microfilm copies of newspapers available at the New York State Library. Information has been abstracted from the Havana Journal (1853-1887), the Watkins Democrat (1878-1900), the Watkins Express (1871-1900), and the Watkins Review (1896-1900). These newspapers were all published in Schuyler County, New York, but they include many notices for people living in the nearby counties of Seneca, Cayuga, Yates, Tompkins, Tioga, Chemung, and Steuben, as well as for people who moved out of state. Vital records were recorded by the Town Clerk in New York State beginning in 1885, however not all marriages and deaths were recorded until 1906 when it became mandatory. This book also contains difficult-to-find vital records that pre-date 1885. A surname index adds to the value of this work. J3173HB - $26.00
