This revised School Admissions Code came into force on 10 February 2009 applies to admissions to all maintained schools. Chapter 1 sets out the key statutory provisions that underpin school admissions, imposes mandatory requirements and provides guidelines on ensuring fair admissions arrangements that promote equity. Chapter 2 provides guidance for admission authorities on achieving good practice in setting oversubscription criteria.
